Ran into Bashas in Flagstaff and was greeted by the manager stating the store will close in 10 minutes. He was obviously disappointed I didn't turn around and walk out. I was okay with quickly getting the few items I couldn't get at Walmart just minutes previously. I grabbed my items to only find that the only check out lanes were 2 self-checkouts with a line of 5 people waiting to checkout. 2 associates were running around cleaning up the 4 closed self-checkouts rather than opening them up. Once the announcement over the PA stated the store was closed, they opened one of the closed self-checkouts. I sadly put one of the associates out when I couldn't figure out how to add ice to my purchase. Also, she had to keep coming over to my checkout and another as the machine kept telling us we put an unscanned item in the bagging area when we did not. We were trying our best to quickly check out as they were obviously annoyed we were there. I only use Bashas as it is near to us when visiting Flagstaff. From now on, I will be driving across town to use other grocery stores to...
Read moreI shop here because I can walk to this store. But... I'll start out nice. Produce staff is wonderful, as are most of the checkers. Deli---not so pleasant. Meat and poultry. I think they may not have butcher on site anymore. The staff seems to do best with what the have. This store lacks a lot of basic items as in raspberry sherbet or any sherbet for that matter, condiments, ethnic basic foods used by local native population. Yet, there is space to put potato chips in 4 different locations and stack beer, sift drinks and junk foods in aisles. This crows out dairy case along with diagonally postured bread shelves...all other bread is on opposite side of store. Don't overlook junk candy vending machines and game stands and product displays...I just wish someone would decide local store management and not vendors and corporate determine optimal store layout and remember vendors who create hazards for customers do not pay store's liability...
Read moreThis is my wife's childhood grocery store and every time we are out of state we try our best to try to find one to stop at to get something to drink or eat. This one was a little smaller than I ever remember most grocery stores being but it was very cute and quaint although the people inside were rather droll towards out of towners. I tend to notice that a lot of small towns and their residents tend to throw crosses and holy water at anyone that isn't from around there and I didn't quite get that vibe but they could have been friendlier. All in all I am from a small town so I get it so I will not subtract any stars for that. The fact that no one would acknowledge nor tell me whether or not there was a restroom available in the store didn't really please me too much. To be honest unless I can't find an energy drink somewhere else I doubt I'll come back to this particular location but I'm glad it was there because we...
