Frances Short Pond — Attraction in Flagstaff

////UPDATED REVIEW//// Algae bloom is gone. Whoever takes care of this lake keeps it really clean. Everything else is still awesome! This is definitely a very fun place in the city to take the kids so they can run around and point at the ducks and play. 👊🤘

////ORIGINAL REVIEW//// This is a great place to take all your kids to look at ducks and coots and geese and a blue heron. There's an algae bloom right now, but people seem to still be fishing. I didn't see anybody catch anything, but I guess if you're out here casting on this small pond, it's more about the experience than trying to bring...

So much fun every single time we visit this pond! It was recently cleaned up and spruced up not just for visitors but for the Ducks and fish and other Wildlife. We always enjoy walking the paths and feeding the Ducks and taking in the view which is gorgeous! And if you're lucky you might catch a hawk or an osprey fishing which is such a cool site because they snag those fish so quick and they see them from so far away! It's just a really fun place to go to get outside with the kids or just with yourself. I would definitely recommend visiting this place as we visit...

If you like getting outside, nothing quite beats the reflection of a magnetic mountain on water. This is one of the few bodies of water you can find at 7,000 get in the Flagstaff area, and is very enjoyable to just spend time looking at. My son learned to ride a bicycle on some of the sandier trails on the North side, hard to find soft trails in the Flagstaff area....
