I've been visiting PCB since 1993, probably 20+ times since then, and I've never stayed at more inhospitable place. I've never once had an issue with any management team, but here it was a daily occurrence.
On Day 1 of our visit, I was accused by management of entering their "closed" pool. I was in the pool during normal hours, through an unlocked gate, in a pool with no closed sign anywhere. After I explained this to management, they continued to accuse me of "forcing" my way in through a locked gate, which simply was false.
The next accusation came in the form of management saying I then was responsible for breaking off their pool gate, even while they admitted to someone else breaking it on video. Their opinion was that since I was in the pool at the time a separate family broke the gate that I was liable. Wow.
Day 2: Pool was closed. Again, no sign indicating "closed" and no reason given. My opinion is that the maintenance team was struggling with the complexities of pool pumps, chlorine or water levels.
Day 3: Best day yet....my favorite management member (same guy again) approached me at the pool while my 2 year old daughter ate grapes and crackers in a chair well away from the water. After being told food was not permitted on the pool deck, we packed the food back into the ziplock bags, put it back in our backpack, and hung it on the outside of the pool fence. Well, that wasn't good enough for my favorite management member, he then came over and told me the food had to be cleared from the entire pool premises because of "fire ants". He then prompted to tell me to stay seated and that he would plan on calling the police if I didn't comply with his orders. Luckily, he finally got over it and left. However, 1 day later I took a few sweet pictures of one of Sterling Beach's contracted maintenance workers eating a large bowl of food and drinking a big 44 oz soda right there on the pool deck. Guess fire ants don't like that, just grapes and crackers.
Day 4: Day was going pretty well, no run-ins.....but alas as we head out to our car I have a citation on my windshield....again from my favorite management guy. Management threatened to tow my vehicle if my hang tag, which was provided by my rental agent and clearly visible, did not have our exit day clearly indicated on it. It was not stop with these guys.
Other observations, if you like security cameras, this is your place. I've seen fewer security cameras in banks and casinos. My count was roughly 30 on the premises. And while management will tell you they are for security, they are also to make sure you have your pool wristbands at all times and that you follow all their rules.
While I'm on rules, its honestly unbelievable the number of signs on the premises telling you what you can't do. My favorite was the "Don't drink the pool water"(common sense right?).....closely followed up by a 2x4 ft sign at the pool letting you know if your baby enters the pool without a swim diaper (common sense again), you will be fined $500.
Bottom line, this place is exhausting and really has in my opinion a management team in the rules enforcement business vs. the hospitality business.
Its a shame too, because the building was decent and our room was great, but management and the HOA doesn't seem very interested in treating people like guests.
Look elsewhere during your next visit to PCB if you really want to...

Before we could unload our 2 automobiles received a violation on 1 of the autoâs for no parking pass. No biggie...got parking pass in autos..all set for a great vacation. Day two, parking violation #2. Receive violation for improper display of parking pass. (Parking pass has writing on both side) Even though you could clearly see either side parking pass as it hung on rear view mirror. Day two, parking violation #3 Our other auto received a parking violation for not having dates written in on parking pass. Day three, somehow by the grace of God - we did not receive a parking violation! However on day 4, all hell breaks loose. On our way up from the beach, we noticed the security manager was really looking in my husbands truck. Our son said he would run down and see if he was needing something. My husband & I changed clothes met our son down in parking lot to go eat. Thatâs when our son informed us that the security manger took our parking pass. This was at 2:45pm. The manger told him the date on the parking pass looked like 8/26-6/2 not 5/26-6/2. My son said Iâll fix that right now. He told him no, that was no acceptable. The manger said he would call the management company for our condo and would see if they would reissue us one. If not, we would have to buy another and he would be leaving at 3:30. My son then asked what happens if the next shift comes on and we donât have a parking pass because we are waiting on our management company to get pass to us. He said not his problem. They already had the right to tow us since we had received 2 violation on that auto already. My husband & I get down to parking lot and call our son to see where he is. He is in condo mangers office buying another parking pass. We go into the door and my husband ask whatâs going on?! The manger points his finger at him and yells to get out, itâs none of his business! My husband said wait a minute, thats MY TRUCK! It is my business. I asked the man his name which he answers Ike, property manager. Pointing his finger again at us and said WHAT YALL NEED TO DO IS GET OUT OF MY OFFICE! We werenât even in his office, we were in the room outside of his office. Ike had already taken the money for the pass wouldnât give it back nor would he give the original pass back. Later that evening got a call from the management company of our condo. Ike had called the owner and told him we were causing too much trouble. Now Mr. Ike didnât mention anything about the parking pass issue to the owner and thatâs the only reason we had any contact with him. Mr. Ike did not call and request another pass as he said he would. The management company was contacted by the owner because of âall the problemsâ Ike was having with us. After speaking with owner, he understood our frustration. The management company offered 20% of our next stay at any of their locations. After 12 years of staying at Sterling beach, our time there is OVER! Also canceled 3 other future reservation there. As Mr. Ike explained to me very arrogantly is hired by the condo association and he has the final say at the location. So as I explained to Ike, that maybe true but I have the final say on where I choose to spend my money and it will...
Read moreFirst off very clean and a nice condo. However security takes their job serious, if they detect too much fun they will let you know. Apparently there was some misunderstanding about checkout time guy at desk during check-in set 11 however when 10 ish came on Monday morning a knock on the came by a guy wearing earphones and a backpack. Didn't identify himself but apparently he was housekeeping. Told him we were in the process of packing and we would be out shortly. 5 min later another knock this time by management. Explain to her we were packing and leaving and she wanted to continue talking so the door was closed so we could finish packing. So she takes it upon herself to open the door and enter our room. Then didnt seem to understand why we were upset. And tells us that she can have us removed now, ok we understand that but we are actively loading our stuff. I dont know what else you expect us to do. She never once apologized for the confusion of the checkout time we are reasonable people and would have understood however we were treated as if we were trespassing after paying $1,000 plus to stay there. So with all that said, if you want clean nice rooms with a swat team patrolling every move you make and unreasonable management that has evidently no training in hospitality and hotel development, book your stay. And I never leave reviews good or bad but I just found this to be absolutely...
