The Zittel Family Amphitheater is a wonderful outdoor family friendly concert and performing arts venue in the heart of the Folsom Historic District. The stage is right next to the Historic Folsom Train Station and Railroad Museum (a vintage railroad passenger car), that makes a nice backdrop behind the stage for memorable photos. Between the stage and the cement & artificial grass seating is a space for dancing and getting your groove on!! Throughout the spring and summer, the chamber of commerce, along with various sponsors host a variety of free quality concerts, movie nights and even a Shakespeare's play. The concert series span a wide variety of musical interests and top notch regional bands worth seeing. Make sure to come early, as seating capacity is somewhat limited and bring some low backed chairs, blankets and drinks and enjoy the show.

One of my favorite venues for Shakespeare in the Park. Every seat is a good view of the stage and it is all on turf and concrete so my allergies do not act up. If you ever have the opportunity to see a performance here, be sure to come a bit early to have dinner at one of the quaint restaurants in the historic Folsom District.
