The coffee bar has a welcoming and cozy ambiance. The exterior features a rustic charm with wooden siding and a quaint outdoor seating area under green umbrellas, perfect for enjoying a coffee on a sunny day. However, the interior is quite small, with roughly 6 tables and no wall outlets — which might not be ideal for those looking to work on their laptops for an extended period. Menu above is tiny — but they have their menu posted on the counter. Parking is free. They have one restroom located in their members only section.

The menu is diverse and creative, featuring a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and food items. They offer unique options like matcha, salads, sandwiches, pastries, and even tacos.

I tried two of their iced beverages: a cold brew old fashioned and a hawaiian punch — no caffeine or sugar. Both drinks were refreshing and flavorful, served in clear cups with the Sociology logo. The cold brew was robust and smooth, while the hibiscus tea was vibrant and slightly tangy, perfect for a hot day.

The staff at Sociology Coffee Bar were friendly and efficient. They provided excellent service, ensuring that our orders were prepared quickly...

I am writing this for my friend because she is too nice to leave a review. She called me crying today over what had happened. For starters, she is a regular here and spends around $30 every week at this Cafe. Today she went in and got her food and drink and sat outside on their patio area. Unfortunately, a bird flew above her and pooped on her food and her drink while she was at the Cafe. She went in and kindly explained what happened and the lady at the register did not act apologetic and was very rude about what happened. The employee, speaking with disgust, simply just said, " hm well I don't know what you want me to do about that. If you want another drink you can just buy another one." It is not the fact that my friend did not get her drink and food replaced, it is the fact that the employee was so rude about everything and didn't even act apologetic. Her tone towards my friend was completely unprofessional and lacked all sense of customer service. It pays to be nice, and they just lost a loyal customer because of how rude the staff is. Be better. My friend is the sweetest person and does not deserve to be treated so...

I’ll preface my 4 stars with the positives first. The service was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and attentive staff. Every interaction with their staff was perfect. I’ve rarely had such great service.

The food and drinks are also excellent. I tried the Cold Brew Old Fashioned and the Cubano Panito. The Old Fashioned was reminiscent of its alcohol-based namesake. Very good, not too sweet, and plenty of flavor. The Cubano was delicious. It had a nice texture and they did not skimp on the meat. I’m very happy with the items I tried.

Now onto the reason for my rating. I want to give this place 5 stars, but the music was far too loud. Excellent playlists, but the volume needs to be lowered to a volume that doesn’t require raising my voice and craning my neck to hear the person I am speaking to. The atmosphere would be greatly improved with a lower music volume.

This being said, I will most definitely come back. And will happily adjust my rating if the owners are receptive to...

Sociology is a charming coffee shop located adjacent to downtown Folsom. I stopped here for a quick breakfast before starting my workday. There were quite a few tempting items on the menu, but ultimately the GF orange almond cake and jibaltar won. The coffee was really good and (just a personal favorite) the coffee art was beautiful. The menu is really interesting and I’m excited to try the breakfast tacos next time. The baristas were really friendly and there was no pressure to rush to make a choice. The decor is really cute here, it’s kinda hard to see what the theme is but it’s very cool. Also, this sign made me really want to be one of the members, haha! It’s probably really smart to put a cool coffee shop by a coworking space this large!

One of the hidden gems of the Sac Coffee scene,in my opinion. I had tried their coffee at the Folsom's farmers market but just recently got a chance to visit the coffee shop. They have interesting flavor options and I tried the Banana spice latte and loved it! I think it's because of the house made syrups, but the flavor was very subtle yet obvious, unlike some overpowering ones I've tried. The perfect latte art was the cherry on top. Would definitely be back to try out other flavors as well. Loved their ambience which gives the place a lot of personal character and makes it stand out from other cafes which have a typical modern/chic vibes.
