**An Unforgettable Evening at Social
I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Social today, and I have to say, it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked through the hidden entrance, the ambiance took me back in time, immersing me in a world of vintage charm and warmth. It’s exactly the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a secret, and every detail, from the dimly lit interiors to the soft music playing in the background, set the stage for an amazing moment.
**The Service What truly elevated the entire experience was the impeccable service. My server, Zach, was attentive without being overbearing, offering thoughtful recommendations and making sure I had everything I needed throughout the evening. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the drink menu, explaining the origins of different cocktails and their unique ingredients. Their passion for what they served was palpable, and it made the entire experience feel even more personal.
**The Drinks:
The cocktail menu was nothing short of extraordinary. I started with their signature drink, berry white, and wow – it was a work of art. The balance of flavors was perfect, with the right amount of sweetness and a subtle kick that lingered just enough. I could tell that the bartenders used only the finest ingredients, and the attention to detail in each glass was evident. It was clear that these cocktails were not just drinks, but a celebration of craftsmanship.
**The Food: Now, let’s talk about the food – which was just as impressive as the drinks. The menu was full of inventive small plates that were the perfect complement to the cocktails. I tried the Pasta Primavera and each bite was a harmonious explosion of flavors. The texture, the freshness of the ingredients, and the balance of seasoning were all executed to perfection. It was evident that the kitchen was as meticulous as the bar.
**Overall Experience: From the moment I walked in until the very last sip of my drink, the experience at Social was a journey of exceptional hospitality, outstanding cocktails, and mouthwatering food. Just the perfect mix of luxury and...
Read moreIt was our first time there; as we entered the basement, we were greeted by a lovely young woman who made us feel very welcome. I was somewhat surprised to hear her say, "If something's is not perfect, just let one of us know." That's not something you hear at restaurants very often, and it seemed rather bold... The atmosphere was on the dark side, with low lighting. We were directed to a cozy little spot near the back of the room which was somewhat private, and quite nice with three leather loveseats against the wall facing into the room. They appear inviting, but beware! The springs are gone, so when you sit down, you feel like you are in a crater, and you are very low. The table was about the same height as my chest! I suppose I could have mentioned that as something that wasn't perfect, but the rest of the experience was excellent in every way.
Our waitress was lovely and kind. I have a hearing impairment, and she took the time to come closer to me and speak more directly so that I could hear and understand her. I believe her name was Shannon. :) At the end of the meal, she even sent us home with a small container of a truly delicious mustard they make! I felt very spoiled.
We ordered the large charcuterie board. I truly enjoy this style of eating, but this is the first time ever that my husband and I ate a whole one of these by ourselves! It was so delicious!! They make much of their own pickeld vegetables, and they were so very good. The meat and cheese selection was superb. We will definitely...
Read moreBoth stars are for the assistant bar tenders. I have been to Social about 6 times now and have had excellent service except for the last time. It was enough that I will not be going back. I was in on a Monday night, pretty slow. We ordered from the menu, which I think was a drink special menu, so they were less expensive than average. Our drinks came quickly and were mixed by two bar tenders that seemed like assistants to another bartender who was walking around furiously mixing a few drinks for another group, sniffing at the shaker after each addition. Later, we were sitting at the bar and I asked the bartender what he was mixing up because I was almost finished with my drink and what he was making looked interesting. He looked up, stammered a little bit and said a cocktail. Really, no kidding? Remember, it was a Monday night and NOT busy. He was younger than most of the other bar tenders I had seen before and had dark hair. I have never felt more like a chump than the way that DB made me feel. Guess I should have skipped the special menu or something? No telling what made him feel so important that he couldn't talk to a guest about the cocktail he was making. He didn't return later to explain it or even ask if we wanted another drink. We got our check and left. Likely for the final time. This was a few months ago but its hard to forget a visit like that. In fact, the anger I felt about it was enough that I would come back and write a review about it way after...
