I have to say we did not have a good experience at all with water taxi yesterday.
Paid 160 Dollar for 4 people and only got to take one (express) ride from Bokampers to Las Olas BLvd.
Ok, here is the story. We started at Bokampers. The double decker boat came, but couldn´t get through the bridge because of high tide. So we walked to shooters to get on the boat and then have been told that it was an Express. Ok, whatever, we thought we just take the full tour on the way back.
While we were sitting on the boat and waiting for it to get started (which was about 20-30 minutes) the next „small“ boat passed us and went to Bokampers. As we didn´t want to run all the way back we stayed on the express.
Got off at Las Olas and walked around went for a drink etc.
Came to Stop 1 at about 3:15 p.m. Waited for the next boat. It came about 15 minutes later and told us that its going to bet an Express boat and we should wait for the next. 20 minutes later the next boat came but told us its going out of service. So waited for the next for another at least 30 minutes. Again it was the Double decker. We sat down and waited and theI have to say I was already pretty pissed at that time because we were sitting at that stop for nearly 1.5 hours already. So we waited on that boat, every body was in a bad mood and we started to get hungry. Then a small boat came (which was an express again) and we were like ok whatever, lets take Express back…. we sat down and a few moments later they told us that they also have to wait 30 minutes before we can leave….
And that was it. We got off and took and Uber back to our car. I have no idea what was going on, but that was really not fun at all and you can not do this to your customers!!!
Furtunately they told me I will...
Read moreHad a great time out on the water taxi, as we made a full day of it enjoying the views on the water, as well as all the beautiful properties up and down the intercoastal waterway. We covered the entire waterway, including the route down to Hollywood, but didn't utilize the free water rides up to the New River. The first captain and his first mate were the best that we had all day (and night) as we jumped on and off several times throughout the day. They were very informative and shared many stories about landmarks and properties up and down the intercoastal waterway from stop 10 down to stop 4. We then opted to change boats and although we continued to enjoy the scenery and views the narration that the others offered was Never as good as the first guy. Although I wish I could remember their names to give them kudos, but I do know that they were both older gentlemen in their 60's and really enjoyed doing what they do. The reasons I didn't give 5 stars is because of the boring or non existant narration from the other boat attendants. Also as the night was winding down that one captain insisted that that we needed to go ahead and exit the boat at stop #6 to wait for the next boat to get us back to stop #10. Although I could see on the boat tracker that the next boat coming was still plenty far enough out for us to stay on and travel on down to stop #5. The captain made everyone that wanted to be going back upstream to disembark at stop #6 and wait 25 minutes for the next boat where we were swarmed...
Read moreHad such a wonderful day, really great activity. Really nice variety of spots. Some are closer then others, overall a nice water experience for locals or tourists. Crew members are trully fantastic. Funny, nice and dedicated. Boats are all different sizes and shapes. We did all the stops starting from 10 to 4 then to 1. Each offer a variety of activities. Boats pass every 30 to 45 minutes. There a live online tracker which works great and gives you can idea of how close the next boat is. The Hollywood taxi (#4) passes every hour simply as the duration to the destination is lengthier (60 -90 mins) but diffinently worth it (margaritaville + boardwalk). Nice lush scenery we even saw some dolpins. Purchased the day pass (40$), which gave us ample time to complete the entier map, trully worth the value. Boats were clean and all have a toilet onboard. They also sell drinks (sodas, water and canned alcoholic beverages) for a fair price. Only the double decker taxi boat has a full bar at the main level. A great plus, is at the difference stops most restaurants have partnered with water taxi and offer discounts. We went on a Tuesday where the river and boats weren't too busy. Would trully recommmend and would...
