Kaie Salon — Attraction in Fort Lee

*Update 7/31/2025 It’s been another year and I’m back to give Dan another well deserved shoutout. He’s been cutting my hair for over 3 years now, and I legit can’t picture going to anyone else. Dan’s seriously talented, super nice, and always down to try something new and give his opinions.

Now a days, I just let Dan do his thing. Honestly at this point, I trust his judgment over mine lol.

From a bottom of my heart, if anyone is looking for a hair stylist that will ACTUALLY listens to you and cater to your needs, Dan is it. Again, now I can't never leave Jersey 😂

Dan has been my hair stylist for over a year now, and I often joke that I can't imagine moving out of Jersey simply because I wouldn't want to leave him behind.

He's not only talented but also incredibly kind. Each visit seems to be better than the last, as he continuously strives to improve and exceed expectations. What I particularly admire about Dan is his honesty and dedication. If there's ever a style I request that he's not fully confident about, he's upfront about it. He'll take the time to research and practice, ensuring he can deliver exactly what I'm looking for during my next appointment.

Okay to be honest, I would've gave this a one star but he fixed my hair and charged me less to make it even. I came in with a hair color in mind, changing my previously dyed blonde hair to brown. Keep in mind, my hair is very thick and the color had been there for awhile. When I go to my usual hair stylist, I'm in the salon for at least 2 and a half hours. The main hair stylist Kaie rushed me so badly and I finished within like an hour and 15 with a hair color I did not ask for. I asked to go dark and to put brown highlights in my hair and to strip the blonde and was left with a really weird brown tone mixed with my blonde hair that made it look green. He actually thought it looked good and I was in disbelief. He fixed it and I made him go darker but it's not what I wanted at all. On top of that, he asked about my ethnicity and asked if I spoke "Puerto-rican" lol.... Mind you, he has two Spanish speaking workers. I thought that was ignorant. I first came to Kaie Salon in October 2022, to fix a previous haircut done at another salon. Dan was immediately on top of it, offering empathy, assessing the issues professionally, and offering his guidance. He did really amazing and was honest about expectations as the length would need to be shorter than he anticipated initially. I enjoyed my experience and have continued to return. Each time, Dan is ready to listen, empathetic, and honest about the nuances of the haircut. He takes the time to educate as no one had previously discussed my hair texture and its impact on certain cuts and style management. He also takes into account my lifestyle limitations/needs. My most recent haircut yesterday continued to exemplify all of these qualities. I appreciate his good memory as well and the good conversations.
