I visited Paradise Spa yesterday. Although I was pretty satisfied with the massage I received, there were a few things that happened that turned me off completely and will probably stop me from ever going back there.
I was given a gift certificate for $130 for one of their special massages. Apparently everything is NOT included though and you will have SURPRISE charges waiting for you when you leave. The whole point of a GIFT certificate is that its a GIFT. The recipient should not have surprise charges especially when not being told anything upfront when I arrived. When I arrived at the location I checked in, received my locker, was given the tour and the massage and etc. When I was checking out and getting ready to leave, I was just NOW being told there is a $40 Admission fee!!! WHAT?!?!? The $130 gift certificate did NOT include admission!!!! Crazy!!! Than they asked me if I would like to leave a tip and how much. I told her the amount, she said “THATS NOT ENOUGH.” She than showed me a tipping chart based on the service and time i was there and I HAD to follow that chart!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! I was forced to tip more than I wanted to. I payed more than 30 % for a tip! Also, the person that bought the gift card for me was not made aware of any additional surprise charges or mandatory tipping that would be forced upon me at the end of my massage.
The other thing that happened that made me uncomfortable was their policy of HAVING to be nude, no exceptions. I could not wear my bikini I had brought with me.
I will most certainly NOT return to this location that hides fees and tipping policies from their customers. This is an absolutely disgusting business practice and maybe should be looked into by the Better Business Bureau.
Finally, the very funny part about this situation is that the woman said NO ONE has problems or complains about their surprise admission fees or their mandatory tipping charts. Then I go on Google reviews and all the complaints are about exactly this....
Read moreI visited Paradise Spa yesterday during my trip to New Jersey, following a recommendation for a nearby relaxation spot. I'm immensely thankful for the wonderful experience I had.
To begin with, Although the interior had an old-fashioned charm, it remained impeccably clean.
The sauna area featured a diverse range of saunas and bathhouses, and I was especially thrilled to try the traditional Korean-style bathhouse. The water temperatures in both the bathhouses and sauna rooms were just right, creating a cozy and stress-relieving ambiance.
Relaxing in the bathhouses and sauna rooms was incredibly soothing, and I could feel the stress melting away as I perspired. I also sensed the potential health benefits of the experience. The massage service was truly outstanding. The professional massage therapists provided care with the utmost attention to customer comfort and well-being. My massage therapist even shared encouraging words about my future health, which was heartwarming. After the massage, both my body and mind felt significantly lighter, and I left the spa in high spirits. It's these thoughtful details that truly make this place exceptional, and they're one of the reasons why I can't wait to return.
For those planning to visit, take note! I initially contemplated getting a 60-minute massage, but based on my experience, the blissful feeling of 60 minutes seemed too short. I highly recommend opting for the 90-minute massage.
I got a Sauna access and a 90-minute deep tissue massage together cost $150. i paid gratuity and taxes...
Read moreABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING!!! I saw a Groupon for a couples massage and accidentally purchased it before reading the reviews. A week after I purchased, I started to read the reviews and to my horror all the negative reviews came true!
When I arrived, the front desk staff greeted me and said voucher now! So we handed her our voucher. Next thing I look up and on the screen she tells me there's a Groupon Tax to be paid $13.80) Nowhere on Groupon does it say there are additional fees being charged. We then ask her and she said there's tax. So then she says " 2 massages, tip $20 x 2 people = $40 you pay NOW!!!!"
Im so shocked that she actually demanded this!!! She said pay now! So my poor girlfriend is in shock and im like ok i'll pay. So I pay and we go in. They bring us after we change to a room on the side and they tell us to change , lie face down & they never closed the door. My "therapist" was so bad that it was 40 mins fake stretching and 20 minutes of PAIN!!! I wanted to run away to badly. I told her it hurts like 10 times and she didn't care. She just kept saying you're so tense. Im not TENSE!! THATS MY BONE!!!!
It was a horrible experience. Worse massages we ever had. No consideration for privacy, that is illegal. You must close doors when you're almost nude on a table where anyone can walk in.
Completely, unacceptable and unprofessional. These people must not be licensed at all. Noone in their right mind would massage like that! I felt I was bring punished. DONT GO THERE. The reviews have...
