Burroughs Home and Gardens — Attraction in Fort Myers

The Burroughs Home & Gardens was an amazing venue for a multitude of reasons that allowed us to enjoy and celebrate to the fullest extent on our wedding day. First, the overall prop erty, views on the river, old Florida and feel inside and outside the house pulled us to fall in love with the site as we are born and raised Floridians. Second, Melissa and the staff are stellar as they helped us throughout our entire wedding process explaining and bouncing ideas of how other weddings and events have used the property in the past, identifying, sharing, and connecting outside vendors who are extremely familiar with the venue, and having great communication and patience with us in the build up and day of for our wedding. Third, the recently renovated and updated bridal suite was the perfect addition to the venue and included everything a bride and bridal party could need on the wedding day. Lastly, knowing that the funds to rent this amazing space goes back to restoring and continuing the upkeep of this venue which is integral to Southwest Florida history is an amazing feeling to support for future couples to get married and other amazing events to continue...

This was an incredibly gorgeous place to visit and detour guide helped to show just how historic the city of Fort Myers and this house is. Miss Carrie was absolutely fantastic and you could tell that she thoroughly enjoyed her job and wanted to share her excitement and passion about this place with all other visitors. She described the history of not only the house but the city, and made sure to answer any and all questions that we had. The house is beautifully restored and the tour gives a full history of one of the most exciting places in Fort Myers. That's truly a gorgeous place to visit and definitely would recommend, not only for the gorgeous furniture and structure of the building but also for learning more about some of the history...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the place and it was nice. But we paid full price to have our wedding there and for them to have the place under construction on the big day with tools laying around and the two women in charge to be completely sour to us and our guests. Let alone show up in a tank top and tights. They packed up our reception an hour early, and denied me a drink the moment they did. Easy to say the day is not about the bride and groom. Anyway I wish luck to anyone trying to work with Magean or Jena. They will sell a great character and flip a switch the day of your event, and after when you try to contact them about it.
