Attending a unique "24-hour" play writing contest this Saturday, Dec 7, 2013 we noted an exuberant group of theater fans nearly filling the small auditorium of the Kiwanis building near downtown Fort Myers.
Arriving early we weren't allowed to be seated which we found a bit strange and walked around the quaint neighborhood just off Palm Beach Boulevard.
Although there were five 10-minute plays presented during the evening, and six judges of some stature including a five-time Emmy winnter, we noted that there weren't any programs listing the playwrights and actors or the judges. That would have been something to promote the theater group and even enable some income from advertising.

The main complaint is that the content of the play was nonsensical to the point of boredom. Two the of our party slept through it. There was so much needless screaming that it was physically difficult to endure. Too much overacting and difficult to hear as the actors did not announciate their words well.
