I thought long and hard about posting this review. I don't like giving bad reviews to anyone, but my experience was truly bad.
Michaels - great store. Highly recommend. I absolutely love the frames, the home decor, and just all the little odds and ends. It gives me joy. However, I will NOT be back to this Michaels ever again.
Two weeks ago my mom and I went in to look at frames. She is wanting to do a huge gallery behind her couch and she loved all of the frames Michaels had to offer. It was only about a half hour before closing time though, so we decided to come back some other time to talk with a specialist in the frames department. She ended up getting a traveler's notebook insert. As we made our way to the front to check out, there was an EXTREMELY rude employee that yelled at us to not walk where he had just mopped. He just stood there pointing where we should walk instead, but with the reflections of the light above, we couldn't tell what had been mopped and what hadn't. After being yelled at twice more, we finally figured out where the floor was dry. I said "Maybe you should put some wet floor signs down." He walked behind us as we were in line, and I am not joking, he GROWLED at us. My mom and I were appalled.
Another lady came in the make a return and the same guy went to one of the registers, and he yelled at her to not step on the wet floor as well (which happened to be right in from of the register). He made her lean over about 3ft of wet floor to talk to him.
Michaels, you need to do something with this employee. He is rude, has NO filter, and incredibly bad customer service. We won't be back, and we'll look for our...
Read moreWell, the best I can say is sometimes they carry some of the items I need for a project that Walmart no long stocks or stocks the wrong type. They do have a general arts and crafts, paints, drawings and educational sections to purchase from. Personally I find them a little underwhelming and a bit overpriced. Many times they do have a lot of kitschy seasonal items, though I find those too a little salty.
They do offer a frame service, though the last time had a job quoted up (years and years ago) I wasn't too pleased with the price or the time table turnaround they gave me. I guess it works for people that aren't technical enough to frame their own pictures or have more money than free time.
Now for a few positives. Most of my trips to Michael's will because I'm on a mission for yarn supplies, which Walmart doesn't carry. They do stock a wider variety of general yarns, threads, knitting and crochet accessories than the general big box stores, though premium yarns are lacking. That's okay because we have a few local yarns stores that will take care of that.
Usually I will only break out the wallet if it is something I need that would be a hassle to get off Amazon, surrounding stores don't carry, it's on sale or I...
Read moreLet me help you and all the other retailers out there. It's pretty simple. When someone wants to give me money, I don't ask them to wait and think about it, I take it....right away. I wont go into this store again. In my opinion, it's just stupid to make me wait in a long line to give you money. You have X amount of registers , why only one or two open when there are double digit customers in line. Heads up, we walk out when we see that line....we buy less stuff, you make less money. Oh, I know the excuses...we are short staffed..blah..blah..blah....that's BS. Where is the store manager?? Why aren't they at the front of the store expediting the line?? Scared?? Hiding in the office while some poor cashier finally decides to call for help? Mr or Mrs manager...you are lucky. In my younger days I would have found you showed you my cart of merchandise I wasnt buying and embarrassed you in front of your customers and staff. You need to learn some simple lessons about customer service. Save your excuses...all you brick and mortar retailers the same goes for you....Get to the front of your stores and be a leader. Dont delegate it, own it....
