I ate here a few days ago, and first off, its a really cool diner! The presentation of an old 80's style diner is awesome! It really stands out from the street in Frankfort!
I was greeted warmly for a take out order and the employees are serious about COVID safety which is a great thing to see.
But despite everything else, in the end I still have to leave a food review.
I simply ordered biscuits and gravy, was told to arrive in 10 minutes, I showed up after 9, was warmly greeted, I paid and took my biscuits.
The biscuits themselves were a tad small but they were soft and had good flavor, the gravy was a bit lacking in the flavor dept. I am glad they added sausage, but the biscuits I got as well as the gravy were just a bit above luke-warm, one side of the gravy was cold. That extremely took away from my experience.
I'll definitely be back to try other menu options especially since I love supporting local businesses and all I got was biscuits and gravy, but first impressions matter more than anything else in the restaurant biz.
I'll see you guys again! But more flavor in the gravy and making sure everything's piping hot will definitely help...
Read moreWe just moved to town and my son found this diner a few days ago svs told my wife and I about how good the food was. We decided to go tonight to check it out. I got the Main Street Burger which was very good. The burger itself was seasoned well and the burger to veggie ratio was spot on. I do wish that there was a little more cheese with the grilled cheese sandwiches, but over all it was a good burger. The fries were a little under done, but not too bad. My wife got the country fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes and she loved them. The steak was fried really good with his flavor. The green beans were absolutely delicious. The cook said the only thing special was they were cooked with the bacon, but we don't think we was completely forthcoming. It's ok though The waitress was friendly and helpful. She was also Johnny on the spot with drink refills. I also loved the 50s diner style they had going on. I We will make this place a...
Read moreAwesome little 50s styled diner. Waitress seemed to be new but did her best getting answers to our questions and was nice. Onion ring appetizer with sauce was delicious and came out fast and hot! My dinner date got the main street burger (burger patty between two very smashed grilled cheese sandwiches). Could have been cheesier for sure. Fries were plain but hot and crispy. I ordered the Fried green onion BLT. I was offered alot of side options and got the slaw which was creamy almost to the point of soup but no complaints, it tasted good. The BLT on the other hand had 2 or 3 pieces of bacon and a thick chunk of red tomato. Not worth $9.99. When I asked about it, I was informed they were out of green tomatoes. I would have ordered something else had I been informed of that before I was served. So all in all this visit was...
