Goodwood Frankfort — Restaurant in Frankfort

I want to start out with our server, Caitlyn!! She is a ROCKSTAR! And, had it not been for her excellent customer service, smile, friendly and professional demanor, knowledge of the menu, and recommendations, our party of 10 would have walked out. Our group of 10 traveled an hour and a half to visit this establishment. We were all on motorcycles and had just enjoyed a nice ride, beautiful weather, scenery, and thought we were going to experience a nice dinner at this establishment. However, upon entering the restraunt, it was a approximately 10-15 minutes before anyone greeted us. There was a female bartender behind the bar chatting to other guests but didn't say anything to us. Once we were finally greeted, it was another 20 minutes before we were seated. But, during the time we were waiting on a table, we asked the bartender if we could order drinks and she was very reluctant to do so and then said we could just wait until were seated. Other than 3 people at the bar, she was not busy. We had no problem paying for a bar tab and closing out with her prior to being seated. She finally let some of the group order drinks but walked away and then wouldn't assist us from that point. Ironically, our server, Caitlyn, welcomed our group back stating she heard we had been to this restaurant previously. No one in our group had ever been to the restaurant and we probably won't return. I'm not sure if the bartender had us confused with other guests that didn't know how to behave in public, or if she woke up and decided to be a terrible human being, or if she was having a really bad day. I chose Goodwood for my birthday almost almost a month ago and I haven't wanted to leave a bad review.. but I hope there can be some positive outcome from it. It was incredibly noisy but I think that's the vibe. The live music was super cool, but it was a tad loud (couldn't talk to each other at our table) and there happened to be a large party of like 30 people who added to the noise and that really wasn't the restaurants fault. Sadly, they wouldn't let us sit out in their beautiful outdoor section because we had 5 people instead of 4. However the main issue is that the food was not good. My strawberry kale salad (the kale leaves themselves) tasted very smokey and just not very good and everything we all ordered was overcooked. I don't think any of the five people at my table really liked what they got. The Bavarian pretzel was very dark, as were the sweet potato beignets. I was really looking forward to truffle fries which is the whole reason why I picked this restaurant for my birthday.. but the truffle fries had house seasoning and truffle both on them and you could barely taste the truffle. I'm not even sure if they actually were truffle fries. Service wasn't terrible but we did have the manager come over to check on us of her own accord and realize we hadn't gotten parts of our order yet and she quickly rectified it. And we appreciate that. Bottom line is that Goodwood just didn't live up to expectations for us, especially food quality wise. Other people have left good reviews so maybe it was just a fluke...

My wife and I are visiting Frankfort for the first time and we have been here 2 days now, I told my wife that Goodwood was the most pleasant surprise of our trip. We stopped in on Saturday afternoon after the BT tour, she had a salad with a very generous serving of grilled salmon and I had the 6 wings and the chicken club wrap served with a side of mashed potatoes. My wife loved the flavor and commented on how moist the salmon was. For me, the wings were deliciously crisp and the mild buffalo wing sauce was hands down the best I ever had. (Warning: while perfect for me if you are the truly faint of heart do not order the "mild" wing sauce!) Everything was freshly made and tasted like it, great ranch dressing, real mashed potatoes (not packaged buds) and a great looking wrap with honey mustard, the verdict is still out at this time as I was too full to even have a bite of the wrap. Our server, I believe she said her name was Brenna or maybe Brenda, was extremely accommodating to all of our requests, I don't believe she could have been any nicer. I saw a number of 1 star reviews and can only say that our experience had none of the negatives. Will absolutely recommend to others and thank you for a most pleasant last day...
