This is my first time using Colonial Jewelers for a men's ring and men's gold bracelet repair. I was quickly warmly greeted and attended to even though the store was very busy. They have a lot of high quality employees. I was escorted to the repair area. The jewelry was examined and a written estimate, with jewelry photograph, reviewed with me. Shortly thereafter I was on my way. A few days later I received a call that both items were ready. On pick up it was the same fine experience. Both items were repaired to perfection. They both looked brand new! I was amazed at the quality of work. The total cost for the extensive repairs for both items was under $150.00!!! I am a raving fan of this well run "jewel of Frederick." Please note: During the COVID-19 pandemic you will need to call to make an appointment before entering. I called while i was nearby and was able to get right in. But that may not always happen. So plan ahead.

Paige was amazing to work with! We had 2 rings resized which came out perfectly. I also had my original wedding band resized and then added 2 bands to the ring. I added a ring I had from my grandmother and then had an additional custom wrap made and used a few diamonds from some other rings that I would never wear again and they added some diamonds to finish it off. I really had no vision before going in and Paige was super helpful and made it all turn out perfectly. The end product exceeded my expectations. Turning my original wedding band into this new custom ring was something I had thought about for 30 years. Love it and would definitely work with colonial again! Before and after pictures.

I redesigned my bridal set I’ve had for almost 20 years. I worked closely with Taryn and she was able to deliver my vision even better than I had imagined. The whole process from start to finish was really enjoyable and I found great value in the redesign over an ‘upgrade’. I could maintain the sentimental value of my set and still feel like I have a brand new ring. Everyone was professional and engaged; I always felt welcome. I was referred here by a close friend and a family member who had similar great experiences. Thanks so much Taryn! I’ll be back ❤️

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! I was in search of a very specific ring and Colonial Jewelers was 1 of 6 stores that carry it within 3 hours of my home. I shopped around a bit but decided to go with Colonial Jewelers because their service was incredible from the moment I stepped through the door until the moment I left. The day I purchased the ring, I was met with congratulations from the staff and a gift bag containing champagne, diamond cleaner, and a congratulatory note. After I proposed, my fiance and I went back to the store to get the ring sized. The ring was sent off for about two weeks and once the store received it, it was shipped to my home. When my fiance tried it on, we quickly discovered it was not the correct size so we planned a trip to the store a couple weeks later. At the store, we affirmed the ring was in fact too large but not because my fiance was measured wrong or because the ring was sized incorrectly but because the unique design of the ring made it incompatible with the standard sizing scale. The onsite goldsmith was able to take the ring down a half size in less than an hour! While we were there, we met the owner who was very grateful for our business and apologized for the inconvenience. My only gripe is we must drive to the store twice per year to get the ring inspected otherwise the lifetime warranty is void. The warranty is for the small outer stones only, not the center diamond. . . home owner insurance covers the center diamond for a small annual charge.

Three major things I enjoyed about Colonial Jewelers: I was at no point in time pressured into making a purchase, especially one I could not afford. Customer service was unmatched by competitors I browsed. The staff was very knowledgeable.

I highly recommend Colonial, I will be back for wedding bands.

EDIT* Today we went to get my fiance's ring inspected for the first time. While in the store we asked why the rose gold wore off showing silver underneath. The representative stated "this is completely normal and will happen over time. That is why people have them refinished." I understand this; however, my fiance has only had the ring 6 months. . . No reason the ring should need to be refinished after such a short period of time. As stated above, we live about 3 hours away and opted to have the store refinish the ring and mail it to us. I was expecting the $50 shipping fee to be waived since the ring is still very new, that was not the case. We will think twice about purchasing from...

Okay, this might be a long post, but it could help someone! My fiancé bought me a "temporary" ring since I’m quite clumsy and not exactly a girly girl, but I know how important quality is. My fiancé also wanted me to be part of the custom ring process. However, he didn't want to wait to propose, so he went ahead anyway!

My fiancé and I had an appointment to have my ring resized, and this was our second ever visit here, our first visit we were in and out 15 minutes. I was always intimidated by the ring buying process, especially at a boutique place like Colonial Jewelers. So I was very anxious and nervous about this appointment.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were told that our salesperson, Carla, would be meeting with us. Right away, I spotted a ring I liked, but since I already had a ring, I didn’t want to spend more money. My fiancé encouraged me to check it out, so Carla brought it over for me to try on. I was amazed by how much I loved it. I’ve always wanted an emerald in a vintage-style ring that was simple yet stunning – and this was exactly that. It was my absolute dream ring.

We walked around the store and chatted with Carla, who was incredibly sweet. Other staff members also came over to talk with us, making the experience even more enjoyable. We learned so much about different items. In the end, I decided to go for the ring and even picked out a pair of earrings – what’s another $325, right? LOL

Carla was never pushy; she listened to everything I wanted and indulged us in exploring bands, gemstones, and more. She noticed how captivated I was by that ring, but she also understood that I didn't want to part with the one my fiancé originally proposed with. Carla offered various options for how we could repurpose the original ring and we loved all of her ideas and it made us feel so much better that I could still have a part of that ring with me.

I highly recommend Colonial Jewelers, especially Carla, who was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming here first for all my jewelry needs. They also offer curated wishlists, so if your partner is looking for something specific, like a particular gemstone, they can add it to the list and provide suggestions for the perfect purchase. Carla walked around with me as I picked out items for my wishlist, and my fiancé was thrilled since gift-giving isn’t his strong suit. It was a win-win...

I brought my Wedding/Engagement set in to Colonial Jewelers to look for ideas to remount it after having it for 26 years; it was due. The shank and prongs were well worn down. The sales associate Janenne. greeted me and immediately I told her I was clueless on what to do but knew I wanted white gold this time around, and something unique with an antique feel. I don’t think she knows this, but this was my second time in. Months prior I came in to get ideas, but didn’t feel a connection with the sales rep. Not complaining at all, there are just some people you connect with and Janenne showed patience, which I needed a lot of, and understanding. We worked together for months to come up with a design that fit me and was completely different than anything out there. I know what I want but have a hard time getting it across because I am so eclectic. Janenne was very patient with me and did a great job keeping me on track and making sure the design came out exactly how I wanted. I am a very visual person so the molds come in handy; however you have to look at the whole mold from all angles and not just the top looking down. So needless to say I did not ‘Love’ the setting when it was produced. I wore it for a month and just didn’t feel it. This ring carries so much sentimental meaning to me and I do not plan on changing it ever again. It had to be perfect and I just didn’t feel it. There was something missing from the original design and I couldn’t put my finger on it. I was embarrassed to go back into the store and didn’t want to complain because I knew I approved the mold. Janenne being very professional, along with Colonial Jewelers, understood my concerns and we came up with an agreement we all could agree on that was fair for both sides. Janenne researched my design even more, listened to what was important to me and came up with the solution. We redesigned the ring and I couldn’t be more ecstatic on the outcome. I will definitely be going back to Colonial Jewelers and recommend to all my friends. I don’t think I gained just a favorite jeweler, but also a friend. I am in the Customer Service industry and Janenne takes the cake! Thank you Janenne for all...
