Surelocked is one of the best Escape Room Locations in the DMV! We did the Wild Wild Quest Room to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary - and the staff were so kind! Our game moderator was one of the best we've ever had. We are puzzle nuts - but we were having a slow time getting our brains in gear (maybe too much celebratory anniversary wine the night before???), and so she supplied us with hints that were helpful, but which still allowed us to have all the fun and joy of solving the puzzle ourselves. Bonus - she stayed in character the whole time - which is something you don't get at any other escape room.
As a side note - I want to provide MAJOR props to the Surlocked In Owner - Chris. I contacted him one week before my anniversary because I am a total procrastinater. I was looking into booking a customized "puzzle hunt" for my spouse as an anniversary gift. I thought for sure he would turn me away because it was such short notice - but no! He helped me to pick a future date for our personalized hunt, gave me a fair price point and even included a mocked up "gift certificate" for the experience as part of the final puzzle in the Wild Wild Quest Room. Additionally - I highly recommend the Dinosaur themed room for families. We took my son (then 7 years old) to that room previously. It was his VERY FIRST escape room experience and the staff we equally accommodating on this visit. We got out with seconds to spare - and the puzzles/tech in the room were top notch. Trust me.... take your kids to the Dino Room. You won't be disappointed. Don't have kids... take your favorite adults :)
Stay tuned for what I'm sure will be an amazing review of our personalized puzzle hunt experience in July 2023. I couldn't be more impressed with...
Read moreWhen thinking about Escape Rooms, often it’s about having fun to celebrate an occasion. Surelocked In was able to take that to an even higher level and have our experience be even more special and unique, even within a relatively tight timeframe in early May 2019. They were able to make our post-rehearsal dinner into a memorable experience that our bridal party and their dates won’t soon forget. After pitching the idea, the Keymaster sat with both us separately to talk through and formulate plans to make it unique to our group. We decided to do the head-to-head room where we could add a competitive aspect to the night. Clearly, I am not going to say much, as to not give anything away, except that even with the ladies winning the challenge, everyone had a fantastic time.
The flexibility and creative nature of all the staff involved in making this event happen was crucial in helping start our important weekend of our wedding on the right note. Not only did everyone have fun, but we walked out excited about our next chance to visit the other rooms at Surelocked In. The puzzles here are challenging and not to be taken lightly, but everyone is in for a treat from the moment you walk in the door. We especially want to thank Chris for his insight and assistance amidst his tropical trip, Layla for her entertaining and wonderful conversation prior to our adventure, and both Michael and LJ for their character roles in transporting us to the pirate and medieval realms! Looking forward to...
Read moremy grandparents, sisters, and i had lots of fun when we came here to play “the witching hour.” it was so fun we decided to come back and do “wild wild quest” instead. unfortunately, our gamemaster this time around was extremely rude and was a massive hindrance on our experience. very condescending and snotty. when we first walked in, my grandfather brought our proof of purchase, and she snorted and told him he didn’t need to. she was not very kind when my grandmother was attempting to sign in to facebook for an extra hint, either. when we got in the elevator, my youngest sister asked us if we thought she was rude and we all agreed. this was not any better during the room, either. every time we asked for a hint she came in acting as if we were stupid and wasn’t very helpful in general. when she pointed out a number combination, and i laughed at how obvious it was, saying i understood it now, she just said “well put the code in then” and left. we got stuck on the directional lock at the beginning and afterwards, she told us we would’ve finished the room if we hadn’t “wasted 20 minutes on the directional lock before you needed to.” (we were on the final puzzle when our time ended—5 more minutes and we would’ve had it easily.) i do NOT recommend...
