LOVE this bridge, it's a real 1o/1o scenic view. It runs a little long in the tooth on a hot summer's day crossing the state line but it helps work up an appetite for some Frenchtown snacks! There are plenty of pictures of the bridge online, but consider this Really Cool Fish I took a picture of from above. Notice how clear that water is? You are WELL ABOVE the waterline up here! It's just quite clear in a few segments, making the depth deceptive. Great river for tubing and this bridge is a great stopover on river adventures!

05/20/2021: Came for my last Delaware River Loop Trail hike from Frenchtown, NJ to Uhlerstown-Lumberville, PA back to Bull’s Island Recreation Area, 10 miles (skipped the NJ canal part because I did that already and friends couldn’t take a 18.9-mile long hike). So we crossed this bridge. The view is beautiful as on other bridges. In a hot day, the breeze from the river makes it much cooler and pleasant. If I live nearby, it would be my regular everyday morning and evening strolling place.

Wonderful steel bridge over the Delaware. Open grate deck, as it should be, so your tires hum and your car wiggles. Wonderful village of Frenchtown with all of its fantastic restaurants and timeless vibe. Wonderful rural community of Uhlerstown with its gorgeous covered canal bridge and lime kilns. Such a great part of the river to spend some time.

When it said, “wider vehicles are prohibited” I questioned my Chrysler Pacifica. Then I get 3/4 across and this larger truck is hauling a trailer behind it. Their tires were over the yellow line. I have no idea how I managed to get by and if their tires were hitting the guard rail on their side, but my van was a couple of inches from it. I slowed down to about 1 mile an hour. (The speed limit is 15 and I’m pretty sure people passed me going faster than that by the time I reached this road block). So that was the start of palpitations. When I finally made it through, feeling my heart pounding in my chest, I saw a huge back up behind me. Wondering how long it took that trailer to make it across. I hope they never try that again! Thankfully I wasn’t headed to a doctors appointment to check my...

The bridge seems sturdy. We walked across to the Pa. side and bought a couple of plants at the farm. The bridge held up my weight while walking but I hadn't yet eaten dessert yet so I may have not hit the weight limit of the bridge. With Frenchtown on the Jersey side (Our favorite, sorry Pa.) there's a bunch of places to check out from Irish food to a coffee shop, to an ice cream parlor. And yes we tried them all that day we visited French Town and the bridge. The water below the bridge did not seem deep at all, but we did see a few fisherman and their dog enjoy anchoring just under the bridge while fishing.
