When it said, “wider vehicles are prohibited” I questioned my Chrysler Pacifica. Then I get 3/4 across and this larger truck is hauling a trailer behind it. Their tires were over the yellow line. I have no idea how I managed to get by and if their tires were hitting the guard rail on their side, but my van was a couple of inches from it. I slowed down to about 1 mile an hour. (The speed limit is 15 and I’m pretty sure people passed me going faster than that by the time I reached this road block). So that was the start of palpitations. Read moreThe bridge seems sturdy. We walked across to the Pa. side and bought a couple of plants at the farm. The bridge held up my weight while walking but I hadn't yet eaten dessert yet so I may have not hit the weight limit of the bridge. With Frenchtown on the Jersey side (Our favorite, sorry Pa.) there's a bunch of places to check out from Irish food to a coffee shop, to an ice cream parlor. And yes we tried them all that day we visited French Town and the bridge. The water below the bridge did not seem deep at all, but we did see a few fisherman and their dog enjoy anchoring just under the bridge while fishing.

Read moreLOVE this bridge, it's a real 1o/1o scenic view. It runs a little long in the tooth on a hot summer's day crossing the state line but it helps work up an appetite for some Frenchtown snacks!
There are plenty of pictures of the bridge online, but consider this Really Cool Fish I took a picture of from above. Notice how clear that water is? You are WELL ABOVE the waterline up here! It's just quite clear in a few segments, making the depth deceptive.
