Wow is the best way to describe what I just ate at Cocina Del Sol. I wanted to try this restaurant out for awhile and finally decided today was the day and I ordered a Grilled Chicken Burrito and Chicken Quesadillas to go. This Mexican restaurant is located in beautiful Frenchtown in the cellar area of a building. I wasn’t sure what to expect as it appears small and had more of a fast food Mexican style inside. I waited about twenty minutes for my meal to be freshly made and the service was very friendly during my visit. I did notice a side small room inside the restaurant which gave it a cozy romantic vibe for dinner. I’ve been to several upscale Mexican restaurants and several smaller restaurants and “burrito” places in the area and none have produced the flavor, quality and presentation I had from Cocina Del Sol… and this was a take out order. I can’t imagine how much better it would have been if we dined in! This is the perfect burrito! The grilled chicken tasted fresh and has the perfect spice seasoning with yellow rice and black beans. The chicken quesadillas were excellent too. I honestly will be revisiting with my wife in less than a week this place is so good. I highly recommend visiting Cocina Del Sol.

One might think that a restaurant in a basement would be not be very inviting, however, the exact opposite is the case with Cocina Del Sol in Frenchtown, NJ. The restaurant is cozy, warm, and inviting with warm tones and natural light that filters in though glass panels in the floor of a shop above. The aroma coming from the kitchen is amazing and you instantly find yourself hungrier than when you came through the door, not to worry though, the food was outstanding and was on our table within fifteen minutes of being ordered. Not being a fan of guacamole, I was a little hesitant about the Texas Burrito, however, the combination of the ingredients won me over and I would definitely have it again. The Beef Fajitas were great, you get to build them yourself at the table. The beef was cooked as requested and was tender and juicy. The staff was friendly and very attentive checking on us several times as we enjoyed this delicious meal. The servings were ample and reasonably priced. A return trip to this restaurant will be in order for this food lover.

For anyone who likes authentic Mexican Cuisine, Cocina Del Sol is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had the pork and pineapple fajitas which were the most savory, delicious pieces of meat and pineapple that I have ever tasted in a restaurant. The rice and beans that come as a side are excellent and serve as a great warm up for your main meal. The nachos and salsa were fresh and full of flavor despite the presentation seeming generic and uninteresting. Also consider trying the jarritas which are Mexican sodas that come in Fruit Punch, Tamarindo, and a bunch of other flavors. My fiancee had the chicken tacos and couldn't stop raving about how good they were even though she was full after the second taco. The wait staff were friendly and it was very clear that this restaurant has a lot of customers. Come early and enjoy a delicious home cooked Mexican meal. I will definitely come here again.

We had heard such great things about this place, but highly disappointed in the quality. Placed a rather large order (5 meals) and was told 30 minutes til pickup. It takes me 20 minutes to get there. Left right away. Got there and the place was pretty empty, one person waiting along with me for food. 10 minutes before someone comes and asks what we ordered. Get home, and 3 of the 5 orders are wrong. (1 of the 5 is an order of churros). Ordered nachos and they had everything on them including jalapeños and guac that I asked to leave off. Ordered taco salad and it has extra jalapeños. Ordered chips and salsa, got chips and no salsa. The shredded beef tacos were the only things that came out correct but the quality wasn't great. Meat was extremely tough. So really nothing edible that came out of this meal. And it wasn't cheap. So when I called to let them know, we got told they'd refund some of the money. I know we won't be coming back, that's for sure. Very unhappy with...
