So, overall the show was HILARIOUS, fun and interactive. This was the 5th murder mystery I’ve done and this was by far the most interactive show I’ve experienced. My whole table was involved. My partner and grandpa were big parts of the show. At least one person from every table gets asked to participate, so be ready for that. The actors were very good and were really funny. The space is small and intimate and housed low occupancy. I think this allows for a better experience. The staff was nice and attentive. Now, I do have a few things I wasn’t 100% happy about. The cost for this is about $77/person. That’s alright as long as everything is spot on. The food was good, but the portions were really small. We all got steak and the portion was less than 4 ounces, the veggies were over cooked, bland and weren’t pleantiful. The cheesecake dessert was 4 bites maximum. For the price I expected more. I’ve spent less money for the same show experience and way better food. Also, I didn’t like how the waitresses just walked right through the actors as the show was going on. The show goes on around you and instead of the wait staff waiting for the scene to move to the other side of the room or be over they would literally walk right through the two actors talking. There’s no better way to ruin the scene. This happened with the guests doing this as well. People did also try to come in during the show, which also ruined the scene. These things need to be better controlled. Also, turn the lights off and close the curtains so the sun doesn’t come through. Create the best look and feel for your guests. Overall, I would try them again and would suggest for something different.

We were looking for a nice dinner in Galena. Considered Generals or Log Cabin but I found this. Honestly at $80-90 a head for a Saturday night it was higher end for Galena prices, but we figured it was dinner and a show. It was pretty much worth it! Our kid (6) had a nice time too but $80+ for a kids ticket is a little high. If you bring the family, ask for plain food when you arrive for picky eaters as mine is not much one for gravy and herbs all over sometimes. Think of this ticket as 50% food value and 50% performance value. We dined with probably 25 others and about 8 diners were asked to play roles including me and my 6yo. The filet was good, watch out for buried toothpicks. The mashed potatoes were good as were the veggies. Up to expectations. The show was interactive, energetic and fun. Well done performance. The pace kept things moving and our family was never bored! Time well spent overall. Would repeat with friends or visitors.

Had an AMAZING experience at the Amelia’s Under the Lamplight Theater 🎭 in Galena, Illinois with our good friends Katado and Matado. The food was amazing 😻 I sadly couldn’t finish my meal because of how much fun I had. The actors were far more than amazing along with their kind and beautiful staff, cooks, and waitresses. I was so thirsty between the laughing, talking, and acting. Our beautiful waitress made sure our drinks were up to the brim. Highly HIGHLY!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I’m a bit disappointed in myself because I forgot the talented actors names…however I’ll be sure to come back for another laughable experience! Thank you to the staff of Amelia’s Under the Lamplight Theater 🎭 in Galena, Illinois! You all truly made this vacation truly memorable, worthwhile, and healing. ❤️‍🩹🤓👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had a horrible experience. I made reservations for 4 and thought I had put the date I wanted to reserve. The next day I visited a place that had no internet access. The coverage was very spotty and I did get a voicemail from this restaurant wondering where I was. Apparently I had reserved the wrong date. To make a long story short when I returned to internet I immediately contacted the restaurant. I admitted my fault and explained had been out of reach via internet. I also opted to pay for the food we did not get but ha$ been cooked. I was very curious how this would end up. I was told if I still wanted to come at the time I thought I had reserved there would be no understanding on their part. The person I spoke with told me if I were to come back it would be aloss for her. She told me ove4 and over how she could not take that “hit”. At that pt it was not about money, but about how she viewed customers. I understand it was my fault but a little understanding goes a long way. This has been a difficult time for all. It would be nice if everyone realized that. I was ready to make a donation as well as another reservation but once I was told I was part of a lose lose situation my only alternative was to leave the situation. There was absolutely no understanding or even kindness toward me. Never make a mistake and expect this place to try to understand. Their eyes are ONLY on their bottom line., not...

well i feel like i should charge them for such a boring night. or ask for my money back. besides being at a table with people who were enjoyable to converse with, the night was BOOOORING. $200 for a meal that was the quality of $10 and you have to BUY your own drinks (not even a comp drink in the price) i got the ravioli (cold and dry ravs the sauce was good but not enough to enjoy) hubbs got the steak meal he said the steak was decent (overcooked) but got him through until we went to mcdys at midnight lolz the way the room is setup theres 2-3 big pillars sitting in the middle of the room that blocks the tiny stage. where we sat i only was able to see one corner of the stage where one of the "actors" sat the whole "show" the main guy would have been better on his own or the show would have been better as a tour where they could act out the scene where it supposedly happened 🤷🏾‍♀️ either way, not only did we walk out a few other parties ended up walking out as well. could have been the fact they tried to tell us we couldnt use the restroom once the show started, then cut off the drinks take it as you will. next time ill def do Matthews tour or just explore the...
