So we stroll into Embe Eatery and Lounge on a whim, thinking we’re just gonna grab a lil’ something-something to eat, right? WRONG. We walked into a full-blown experience. This place didn’t just feed us—it nourished our soul, lit our inner diva on fire, and gave us a reason to believe in small-town food miracles again.
Let’s start with the food: Baby… everything we ordered tasted like someone’s grandma and a gourmet chef got together and said, “Let’s blow their minds.” Sandwiches? Stacked, juicy, flavorful. Sides? Crisp, seasoned, and addictive. I had to stop myself from licking the plate—but also? No shame if I had. This ain’t no basic bar food—this is comfort cuisine couture.
Now... Katie. Let me say this loud enough for the people in the back: KATIE. IS. A. VIBE. She didn’t just serve the table, she served. Sass, charm, wit, and warmth all rolled into one delightful human being. You know how sometimes a server checks on you like they’re just doing their job? Nah, Katie checked on us like she meant it. I felt like I was being taken care of by my favorite cousin who’s also lowkey a therapist and highkey the hostess of the year.
The ambiance? Dimmed lights, cool energy, no pressure, no pretense. Like a lounge that whispered, “Come as you are, leave feeling fabulous.”
Bottom line? Embe is a whole mood. If you’re in Galena and you don’t stop here, I don’t know what to tell you. Enjoy your bland vacation, I guess. But if you want flavor, service, and ✨vibes✨—go to Embe. And if Katie’s on shift? Honey, you hit...
Read moreWhere do I start? My experience here was the absolute worst. Went for lunch and the place was full. There were approximately ten tables and ten bar seats. One waitress taking all the orders, so needless to say she was very busy. I was with a group of five people and we all ordered sandwiches, the specialty of the restaurant. We were able to place our order rather quickly considering how busy it was and only one waitress. However, we waited over 45 minutes for five sandwiches and it wasn't until one of us said to cancel her order that the manager, Charlie, came to our table saying our food was being plated and he would make it to go but we still had to pay for the cancelled food item. We explained the party that cancelled the order had left and he said he didn't care that someone would have to pay for it. He was rude, condescending and unprofessional. He did everything he could to make it the most unpleasant dining experience he could. I will say the sandwich I ordered was good, but i will not patronize this establishment again due to the managers unprofessional behavior. I do NOT recommend this...
Read moreFirst off, I've been going here for decades. Secondly, my wife and I decided to stop by on a date today and this place NEVER MISSES. The service, the staff, the hospitality, the cute little atmosphere.. 10 out of 10 all day, every day. Today we had the Hot ham and cheese ( Pepperjack ), the Screamin' MB, a bowl of the seafood chowder, and a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup. The sandwiches are to die for. The quality of bun, meat, and love put into these are ridiculous. The homemade, YES homemade soups/chowders are the dare you to only have one bowl good. And to finish it all off you MUST HAVE the homemade bread pudding, or two! Not enough to be said about this eatery and experience. It is a VERY busy little place so please dont mind the wait if there is one, trust me ITS WORTH IT. You will not be disappointed, or hungry when you leave. NEXT TIME I will get photo's, I always forget because I'm anxiously waiting for my tastebuds to go...
