Can someone please tell me how this box looks rough? The only difference with this one is that I opened it to feel it and then put it back. So here's the story. I shop here for my collectibles. 90% are from this place. So the following was very disappointing. I was here last night and came a cross a TMNT Donatello. I had the 4 TNMT NECA Edition. I mentioned to both employees that I had them and was interested in store credit to buy the larger one. They said, sure and bring them in. They were specific about they did buy, or give store credit even on OPEN ones. So why not. Well, I went today and only one of both gentlemen were there that I saw. He didn't seem in the greatest of moods because when I reminded him his tone was like "oh yeah". So I responded with "you don't sound excited anymore" lol. Maybe that started us in the wrong mood? Anyways. He offered me $55 for just three of them and told me they would not take Raphael due to the condition of the box. Which I have pictured here. You be the judge? Reminder, they specifically said that they take open box ones too. I asked if they would give me $10 bucks for it. I was ok with a lower offer. The others they offered pretty much $18 ea. He still said no that no one would buy it like that. Yet they have many open ones?!? So all in all. Take this experience as you'd like. Definitely great store with great collectible items but won't be a customer anymore. Plenty of other store like it that I'd now prefer to give my business to. It just felt personal.

This seems to be the premier location for Gamers Alley. I was in here not to long ago when I was visiting Charlotte and can say there's a heck of a lot more product here than the little store they used to have down in the Steele Creek area a couple of years ago. This was my first visit here and I have to say I didn't find anyone on the staff here particularly friendly or nor rude. In fact the 2-3 guys working the place the day I was there didn't say anything at all to me or friend when we arrived or when we left. They were all wrapped up in their own personal discussion the entire time. When you come in the entrance all of the video games are in front of you and to the right from front to back of the store. I found some cool stuff like a Sega Nomad and some of the 32X games. I also noticed there were quite a few reproductions available in the N64 section that were way over priced for a repro. There was a ton of original Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games along with PS1 - PS4 games. The Xbox 360 and PS2 games seemed like the best deals in the house based on sheer quantity. On the left side of the store they have a bunch of action figures. Star Wars classic and modern. GI Joe, Transformers, Spawn and McFarland figures. etc. There's also card games, Magic the Gather, etc. All sorts of stuff. I didn't really find items that stood out for the stuff I collect, nor any deals either, so on this visit I didn't pick anything up. Next time I'm in Charlotte though I'll swing by again and take another look.

One of the only few places that support and have the DIGIMON TCG product and weekly tournaments with a VERY positive community. No toxicity here, everyone is super welcoming and nice! Really great store for videogames, accessories, collectibles, figures, cards. They have it all. The store also has a buy, sell, trade-in system so feel free to bring in any wanted stuff of interest as long as its good condition! One of the few game stores in my area that I can go to attend store tournaments for Digimon TCG. Weekly tournaments for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon TCG, Magic, DragonBall Super, and Digimon! Staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable with the market of merchandise. I highly recommend visiting. Also a great meet up spot to just meet other players for your TCG of interest and play and trade cards!

Took some games in for a trade in. 5 NES games. Was offered $7 and a 'Yea man these are in great condition, we just dont offer much for them' come back in next day with the same stack minus one game I decided to keep. Now suddenly Im getting $10 in store credit, wow, crazy! Not to mention the games I bought the previous day didnt work, which also made me think, 'Hmm, now it makes sense that he didnt actually get a NES out and actually, you know, TEST the games' so I return them only to find IM BEING CHARGED 15% ON MY RETURN BECAUSE THEY DONT TEST THE GAMES? Bro this place is trash. I got my return and chose 2 other games and WOULDNT YOU KNOW IT, THEY DONT WORK EITHER, jokes on me I guess. Dont go here unless youre some grubby little card player. Its pretty clear thats the clique scene they are here for and they just function under the 'identity' of a game store. Pathetic and sad place this is. Dont bother stepping inside or calling.

Not to mention you can ebay games cheaper than 90% of their entire stock. Their goal is to stay alive, not to provide good or reliable service to anyone but people who play card games during the week. And even their card trade in/sale value is garbage. This place is quite literally robbing its own patrons.

These people dont GAF about you or the community. Time to let this one starve and go bankrupt! ^_^

Tell your friends and fam to never go here!

EDIT: After leaving this review, I was contacted by someone at Gamers Alley and was basically belittled with condescending deflections and they wanted me to bring the games and my nintendo in to 'check it out' as if the fault couldnt possibly lie with them. Ive tried cleaning the games that wouldnt work, not to mention took them out and tried games of mine that work first time, every time, and lo and behold, those games still work first try. Gamers Alley is trying to make a joke out of me and any of its customers by denying accountability at all costs. What a sad follow up and a nail in the coffin to guarantee Ill never be returning.

Oh also, they swindled me into paying onto my account last time so it was pay by 'store credit' so I am also sure even if I did return the non working games, theyd at best put the money on my GA account, as if Id want to buy anything else at this point. AND DONT FORGET ABOUT THE STUPID 15% RESTOCKING FEE. YOU KNOW, FOR WHEN YOU WANT TO RESTOCK A NON-WORKING GAME BACK ON THE SHELF FOR THE NEXT VICTIM. Save your money. Take your...

Great store! If you want to buy barely functional consoles and games at a 200% mark up! I've sold most of my massive video game collection and whenever I bring items with light cosmetic damage to this place I'm either told they won't take it or offer around 10 percent what it's worth in store credit or 5 percent cash. You guys gave me 15 bucks for a Gameboy advance SP and then put it on the shelf for 125 dollars, and I god damn took it because I was hungry and times have been hard.

I've been told by one of the employees (not sure his ethnicity maybe Pacific islander black hair taller guy, I don't know his name) that they won't take things in rough condition because of collectors, well let me tell you, some people aren't in it for collecting or finding copies in mint condition, they want to play games. How incredibly sad one must be to think people only collect for perfect condition, a lot of these games were owned by many different children for many years, not everyone is a sad old guy who looks at games like trophy's to lock away behind a glass door.

it's completely ridiculous that these people refuse to take a disc that reads perfectly with one tiny scratch, yet will sell you a game disc that has so many scratches that it won't read. How does that happen? How have you put so many people (by reading other negative reviews) through this yet still some how half the games I buy here DONT WORK.

Not only that but you guys are THIEVES I tried to sell a copy of lights camera pants for GameCube to you and un-knowingly left paper Mario th thousand years door in the case and you said NOTHING. NOTHING. You hacks just took it and gave me pocket change.

I wish you weren't my local option, and now you aren't, because RED GENESIS is the store people should go to. It's ran by a guy who is truly passionate about games and collectibles, he has reasonable prices, and most importantly he seems like an actual human being, unlike the mindless drones that operate Your establishment.

How do you guys keep your doors open treating customers like that, I have had it and I wish other people would follow in my footsteps.

Signed a LOYAL ex-customer of 8 years.

TLDR; dkoldies runs a better business...

So, my experience with the service at Gamer's Alley has ranged from average to poor, but my experience tonight sealed the deal. I took in a PS4 console to sell/trade, and because of my work schedule, got there about an hour before close. Place was pretty busy, not really unexpected. So, I told the clerk (youngish - didn't get his name) why I was there, he checked over what I brought in - PS4 Slim, VG/Mint condition, one Dualshock 4, one power cable, one HDMI cable. Clerk gave me an estimated total, with the understanding they have to test the machine. My exact words: "All good. Take your time, I'll be over by the (PS4) wall browsing.". So, the console sat ignored by the 2 clerks working for quite a few minutes; one clerk eventually set the console over on the other side of the counter. AT NO POINT WAS MY CONSOLE EVER POWERED ON, OR EVEN PLUGGED IN. So after several more minutes, the clerk caught my glance and called me over. He then tells me they can't take the console because the controller shows signs of stick drift. I'm sorry, what? He then turns a screen toward me with the controller plugged into Gamepad Tester. THE STICKS WERE FLUTTERING LESS THAN HALF A MILLIMETER AROUND CENTER. That's not stick drift, THAT'S A NORMAL DEADZONE. Dude was just trying to find an excuse not to do the trade cause he didn't want to be bothered. I figured, there's no point arguing, so I packed my console back up and left.

Here's the thing; I was selling my PS4 because I just bought a PS5, and with an upcoming bonus at work, I was looking at treating myself after a rough year, and spending $200-300 on games and peripherals. I don't know the kid's name that jerked me around on this trade, but he just cost you all that business, cause now it's going elsewhere. Train and supervise your people better, cause I guarantee I'm not the only customer your poor service...
