Biscuits Cafe — Restaurant in Glendale

Short version: Order a hamburger with an extra patty and fries. I paid $17.73 (which is outrageous) for not so good burgers! Not going back.

Longer version (for people who do like to read.. lol)

I have heard this place has great breakfast food. I have also heard they make a yummy burger... so I'm at work and decide to give it a try but ordered take out so I could bring it back to work. I simply ordered a hamburger with an extra patty and fries. Plain as plain can be (I like ketchup but nothing much else).

Picked up my food and the workers rings me up.... "That will be $17.73""!!! My eyes got really wide and I was thinking perhaps I heard wrong but no I didn't..... I just bought an $18 double burger and fries!

Now I firmly believe that there are many occasions that you truly get what you pay for. So I went for it with high expectations. Besides, I'm not the type of person to say, "That's too much money, I'm not paying that, and walk out".. that's not cool in my book. They made the food.

What I discovered is that CLEARLY this is NOT the case here! I got too charred burger pattys on the outside and pink on the inside. It was not good and as a matter of fact, I couldn't even finish it but still felt sick for the rest of the day well into the night. It just didn't sit right.

I"m not going back. Dairy Queen has good burgers and MUCH cheaper. If I want to splurge.. I will spend $12 at Fuddruckers for an AWESOME burger and fries. I will NOT spend almost $18 for a burger that did not live up to it's reputation! That's just crazy to me!!!!!!!!

My friend and I got seated and got menu's. Our waitress seated us and brought us a few glasses of water. We looked over the menu's and decided what we wanted. Our waitress came back over and asked us what we wanted to drink. I got coffee and my friend got hot tea. The waitress didnt ask if we needed sugar or creamer. Anyway, she came back to take our order and we ordered i thn asked for some half and half and EXTRA sugar bcuz we both had beverages we add sugar 2. (She brought over 2 packets of sugar.. Got her attention a little later and asked politely for some EXTRA sugar. She brings over 3 packets. Ok so, out food arrives and she asks what condiments we wanted... tabasco, salt/pepper and some EXTRA sugar packets plz. She brought over 3. Our food arrives, bacon omelette was cold, my pancakes arrived when i was almost done with my breakfast AND we never got refills for our hot tea and coffee. Everyone else around us hot refills but us.. felt awkward but we shuldnt have to wave our waitress down for refills. She didnt even check on us but ONE time throughout our meal. Had to pay $3.00 for one cup of coffee and $3.00 for hot tea? Waste.. thn when were ready to leave she asked if we wanted refills. Thot ok sure why not trying to look past all this but, again we asked for sugar and we got 2 packets haha... we left. Was a sorry experience.. next time will just take our own sugar haha.. and will wave our napkins wen we want refills. Or ill play waitress for the...

We love the food here and live right by this location, so we frequent the Citadel Biscuits almost every weekend. Lately we’ve seen a HUGE decline in management. Don’t get me wrong, the servers at this restaurant are absolutely TOP NOTCH. There are two servers that are sisters and we adore them, immensely. However, we’re unsure who the “phantom” manager is. They are never present or visible. We always wait unnecessarily long for a table and watch as 10-12 tables sit empty, just waiting for our party of four to fill one. Meanwhile we stand outside and sweat in the sun... when we could otherwise be sitting inside with a cold drink in our hand. I’m always told that the delay in seating is due to the kitchen being backed up. Or, “the kitchen is backed up and our manager (whoever this is) isn’t letting us seat anyone for a while.”

Our food order is almost always messed up as well. We could go eat somewhere else, but we love these servers at this location and wish to continue supporting them.

We left today after being told the wait was 20 minutes and standing in the sun (staring at empty patio tables) for 50 minutes. My husband asked what the hold up was and found out that the people in front of us were also still waiting too. So sad... I wish I could open up a new location and steal all of these amazing servers they have. They seriously...
