So on the fence here about what I want to say and such. I’ve wanted to check out Good Brew for a while, but not in the area often. So yesterday when I found myself nearby I took a detour off the freeway and stopped by. First impression was the parking lot was insane. Very, very busy and had a hard time finding a space. I did a circle around the lot and lucked out with a spot right in front with a sign that said 15 minute parking. When I walked inside I was instantly greeted. The guy working was very personable and we chatted for a moment. I ordered my go to cold brew with hwc and sf vanilla. I also got excited because I saw pastries from suss pastry so I picked up a pop tart. They are my fave and I get them often from another local shop. The shop its self was small, but was set up great and even had a few people working on their laptops. There were a few great seating options and I chose an area to get cozy and wait for my drink so I could get back on the road. My drink was made quickly and my pop tart bagged with a napkin and fork as well. I appreciated that. My drink looked good and I couldn’t wait to try it. Unfortunately this is where it went t down for me. The first sip wasn’t good. I thought maybe the whipping cream wasn’t mixed well so I stirred it and got in the car because I had to make it to another area soon. As I was driving I tried a few more did and again not good. If I could describe the taste I’d say sour, a bit bitter but just tasted off. It was undrinkable for me and I had to throw it out. I was so bummed. I regret not staying a bit longer so I could’ve ordered something else etc. I’ll try again and be hopeful it was just an off day for the cold brew, but it was horrible. I’ve decided on three starts for service, pastries and the shop itself had a...
Read moreI really loved this place the first few times I went in, great coffee and love the menu. Tends to be a bit of a wait, so I began to call ahead. Last time I went in, called my order 4 minutes before I got there. Ordered hot. Coffee was cold. I politely let them know it was cold, the male owner got upset with me saying, well you placed a to go order. I said that was literally 4 minutes ago. Then he gave me eye rolling and attitude while he told sometime else to remake it and walked away. Very unprofessional. Then when they gave me the new drink, it was not hot either! The issue was not that it sat too long, it was they weren't bringing the drink to temp. I order to go coffee from Starbucks at least 3 times a week and it's never cold. Lattes don't get cold in 5 minutes or immediately for that matter if they're made correctly. If he had a good attitude about it and took time to understand, I'd have no problem. Before this I'd only gotten iced coffee and it was always good. Just the service made me never want to come back. I didnt bother letting them know the second drink was also cold given the attitude I was given the first go round. A good business means good customer service and unfortunately this guy is...
Read moreFirst time at this coffee house as we had a tire being installed around the corner and wanted a quick java. I ordered a 12 oz cappuccino and my wife had a 16 oz hot americano. The cappuccino milk was scalded and flat rendering the drink useless. The steamed milk was full of air bubbles instead having a smooth steamed texture. What's with barista's these days?! Using a steam wand and a properly calibrated thermometer is not rocket science! Any milk steamed over 150 (final) degrees is scalded and ruins the coffee drink! And bubbles in my steamed milk? Kids these days! My wife's hot americano suffered the same ill-fate, too hot! It took 10 minutes for it to cool enough to drink and by that time the roast was toast! We'll stick with Elevate Coffee from now on as they actually train their Barista's. Attention store Manager; It's not the consumers job to train your barista's! Send them to school if you don't know how to train them...
