There’s nothing wrong with the company as a whole. My problem however is I had bought an elite series 2 controller back in September and had purchased a warranty WITH a GameStop pro member account (in total, the controller was about 240 with warranty). Well these controllers are known to have terrible engineering behind them and break easily. Mine had suffered horrible stick drift along side my girlfriends. So I called and said I had a warranty with it and they had said I could bring it and replace it with a brand new one. Awesome. So I pack everything like I was supposed to then head over. From my knowledge, you can look up the receipt on the computer with the membership (I had the warranty sticker on the controllers box) and instead of trying to help, the clerk then tried to sell me the controller he said he would trade this one with. He said “they were on discount” but were actually the same MSRP as they were when I bought mine nearly a year ago. So now I’m just going to tear mine open and fix it myself. Not worth the 75 dollar warranty and not worth the 175 controller....
Read moreWalking in there feels as if I'm stepping onto a used car lot. Immediately staff tries to push all the latest and greatest garbage and don't take the hint that I'm good. Today I went in and purchased a "new" copy of battlefront deluxe edition...why does anyone purchase a new edition of a game? For the dlc. Get home and pull it out of the bag only to realize the case isn't wrapped like a new purchase rather then its a used copy sold for a new price and guess what! The dlc code has been redeemed all ready. Now after speaking with the main used car salesman about why I wanted a new copy specifically for the dlc and I had no interest in saving a whole five dollars for a used copy with no dlc. So there was no confusion as to wether or not I wanted new or used...I feel ripped off and I would recommend games n movies, ya they are a little more on titles but never have I purchased a product from there and it not be what I wanted let alone get the uneasy feeling of being coaxed into something I'm not even remotely...
Read moreGone downhill in terms of customer service ever since the old manager left. Seems like a lot of them don't want to be there/do below minimum. I've been going there since I was little. Been a constant pro member and even worked there off and on as seasonal.
Tried to trade in my switch for a switch 2 and transfer my data. They said they wouldn't do it even though I've been allowed to do it for years among various systems. It just seems like the guys there this time just don't want to do anything except wait around until the store closes and helping customers...
