West African Cuisine — Restaurant in Grand Forks

I have never eaten African cuisine before in any sense. It was delicious!!

There was a wonderful woman behind the counter who was incredibly helpful in explaining what things were and what our choices and options were. She was very friendly and answered all our questions!

I ordered the spaghetti at her recommendation as it was somewhat familiar. It wasn't anything like Italian spaghetti (of course) and I mean that in a good way! The spices and flavors are ones I've never tasted before but I will definitely go back in the future.

My husband had the dry rice (which was also recommended!) and he finished his meal so quickly! He had fish on the side and it was proper fish! It still had the skin and bones and was cooked perfectly. It went very well with the rice and the spicy pepper sauce that it came with.

I'd recommend this place very highly! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The pepper sauce IS spicy and delicious so if you don't like spice I'd forgo that, but please give this place a try!...

Rare find in grand forks ND so it’s special to have it in this mall where Scheels also is housed. The restaurant is huge as it seems to take up a whole wing of the Columbia Mall on its own. Nicely decorated and lots of space to eat and take pics. You can have parties and weddings here. The food is Liberian and it’s cool to try new things. We tried the dessert with coconut flakes and flour and something else. Both were good. They also have corn bread. For 2 small pieces it cost $4.82 (see pics). A bit dry so you will enjoy them more with a milk like drink or water. We didn’t try the food yet but it looked good and many dishes come with fufu which is a mix of Cocoyam, cassava, and saffron and is like mashed potatoes. Great addition to Grand Forks. Food is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. The variety of food and the flavors are wonderful. You need to try it. UPDATE: the goat meat and pepper soup is a must try. Extremely favorable and a good surprise. Sadly they are the ones left in the food court. Stop by and try some good food and friendly service.
