I bought two pairs of shoes, the shoe personnel was awesome. I went to pay and the checkout lady offered $70 off if I applied and was approved for a Scheels credit card which I said I would apply. She was awesome. Then I went to apply and I told the young lady my hard copy license was expired but I had the paperwork that showed my license valid and waiting on a new license in the mail. She got fixated on my expired hard copy of the license and said it will not go through. After her continuing to talk about my license being expired for about 10 minutes she called another employee at which time I left to used the restroom. When I arrived back and still waiting on the other employee to help her there was no apology or small talk to fill void. I told her forget the credit card application and check me out, which she did with no hesitation or recognition of wasted time. While my expired license was still laying on the counter a male employee showed up and scanned my license and told her it was good to go. Again I waited for her to apologize or offer to finish the application but no. No personal skills. No apology for blaming my expired license which was not the issue. And no recognition of her lack of skill to run the scanner to scan my expired license. $350 for two pairs of shoes and I leave Scheels angry related to one employee. I don’t know if I’ll bring the shoes back or no yet. Update: I spoke with Ray (supervisor) about my complaint. It ment a lot just to speak with someone about my dissatisfaction and he is more than willing to help customers continue being Scheels customers. Thank you Scheels for great...
Read moreGreat employees make a great store, which makes a great company. Scheels consistently provides a clean, safe shopping environment with knowledgeable and helpful employees. Today, I was part of an interaction that embodied Scheels employees' care for their customers. Our family of four (two littles under 2.5 years old) and our elderly chocolate lab visited the Grand Forks Scheels. An employee approached us and asked if he could gift our children two small stuffed labrador retrievers. This small act brought our two young children immense joy, but it says more about the company. Scheels empowers its employees to be part of what makes the company unique. This employee was authorized to give random small gifts to customers during the holiday season - and he brought a tremendous amount of joy to everyone (other employees and customers) through this small but incredibly thoughtful act of kindness and generosity. This employee was empowered to give random small gifts to customers during the holiday season. Thank you for your generosity, for bringing unexpected moments into this holiday season, and for being a positive part of...
Read moreRecently, I was undecided as to whether to buy a particular product from Scheels of Grand Forks because it was kind of a major purchase. But when I spoke to Evan and Luke the day prior, they were both friendly and helpful. The next day, I had had time to think about it and I worked with Cody along with another female staff member who were both very helpful and friendly. Cody actually recommended an improved product over the one that I was originally looking at and I was satisfied that it had all of the features that I wanted on it. The price was a good price and Cody was helpful all throughout the purchasing process. He answered all of my questions and the manager on duty also was friendly as well. He handed me my driver's license back to me instead of placing it on the counter and he did an exit goodbye where he told me to have a nice day. I have been wanting this particular product for some time and Scheels in Grand Forks, ND helped me out to finally get one. Thank you to Cody and to Scheels of Grand Forks! I look forward to my next...
