I've done my research and read the other reviews for Montana Academy of Salons, and I have deduced a few things: with the exception of a few bad eggs, the students try their best and do great work! Unfortunately, the professors and management are sub-par in quality. They lack empathy for their students and the hardships they suffer (both in and out of school, Covid or not). I find this very disheartening, as going to your hairdresser should be almost therapeutic, or at the very least relaxing, and what the staff is showing the students is that it is okay to be rude and judgemental. Lead by example!
I even went in and witnessed it myself: students trying while teachers judge unfairly. I did not get any services done as the building lacked any sense of compassion or humanity. Getting my hair and nails done is an experience I want to enjoy, and I want to establish a connection with the person providing these services in a manner that we can have a good dialogue. The place, I must admit, was clean, but the attitudes of many of the instructors was dirty. And some of the shop talk going on at the front of the building, I will say, was grossly inappropriate for a professional and educational setting.
I give this place two stars, which is two more than I would normally give, except that those few students trying their best to be better people than instructed to be deserve some...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience ever. Going in I expected that students can mess up and was fully excepting of that. The teachers being incompetent though, wasn’t expecting that and completely unacceptable. Their professionalism is no where to be found. I had my first appt in the morning, after the student had asked many questions and referring to the teacher for guidance, my hair was nothing like I had asked for so they told me to come back in the afternoon. I came back and pointed out everything wrong to two teachers and a different one assisted the second time. I still ended up with something I did not ask for, my highlights did not pull the second round so I have first round highlights one color of blonde and the second round highlights a second color of blonde after the student asked the teacher to double check that I was good to be rinsed and good to be washed after toner, clearly that was not the case. I understand you cannot always get the picture/what you ask for but my reference was a previous picture of myself so I know how I pull color and that it was completely obtainable with correct guidance from more...
Read moreI have been visiting the Salon for approximately a year. The atmosphere is always fun and lively. The educators and front desk personal are pleasant and helpful. My main cosmetologist Is MORGAN ZILER. I have had her cut my hair, perm my hair and color my hair. She has also given me chem shots for my hair and has DRAMATICALLY improved the health of my hair with these and the products she has recommended for me to use. Her perms are excellent and as fast as any professional perm I have had. Same with her color and hair cuts. She has also done pedicures, manicures and gel nail color for me and a facial. All have been excellent work. My secondary cosmetologist is BETH HIGGINS and I have had her color my hair when Morgan was booked up. She also does a wonderful job. Both girls are very professional. Thank you for the...
