I placed an order with Bob’s Discount Furniture on July 28th for a sectional, scheduled to be delivered on August 26th. At the time of purchase, we discussed our timeline with the salesperson Kristen, and explained we did not want to wait longer than the 4 weeks it would take on their end and there was no indication whatsoever that there could be a problem with availability or delivery. Nothing was mentioned about potential delays.
A week before the delivery date, I called customer service just to confirm everything was still on track — especially because I was planning to get rid of my current furniture. I was told everything would be delivered as planned, so I proceeded with my plans based on that information.
Then, just two days later, I received an email saying that only half of the sectional would be delivered on the 26th, and I would have to wait another 7–8 weeks for the rest. This was incredibly frustrating and completely blindsided me.
I called the store for help and received a call back from Natalie, the store manager, who was shockingly unhelpful. She offered no explanation for the delay and showed no interest in actually investigating what went wrong. I asked to speak with a regional manager, and she refused to provide any contact information, saying I would have to deal with her or customer service. Rather than taking ownership or offering a solution, she chose to blame Kristen, saying she should have warned us this “could happen.”
Again — no one at any point gave us that warning, and Kristen certainly did not make any promises, but she also never suggested there was any risk of this happening. And Natalie’s dismissive, unaccountable attitude only made the situation worse.
This is actually the second time I’ve tried to purchase a living room set from Bob’s, and the second time the order has fallen apart like this. I should’ve known better.
The prices may be attractive, but the customer service, follow-through, and basic communication at Bob’s are seriously lacking. I won’t be shopping here again, and I’d advise anyone else to be very cautious before trusting their...
Read moreThe only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because of friendliness of the salesmen.. every other experience I had with bobs is horrible. I ordered a bar and when it arrived I opened the box to find that one of the legs was completely broken. I tried to do the text for help thing and the robot said someone would be right with me. No one ever responded. I decided the next day to just call and after a while I finally get to talk to someone. Unfortunately the person I talked to didn’t speak very good English and made everything confusing. I tried to explain to him that I could fix the broken leg and I was just hoping to get some money back. He said that they don’t do that and they would have a new one sent out. I explained that i had an event planned and that new bar wouldn’t be there in time so I would just like to keep the broken one and fix it. This is when the language barrier got weird because he made it sound like I could keep the old bar and they would still send me a new one. I proceeded to give the broken bar to a friend because I wasn’t under the assumption i was able to keep it. The new bar was supposed to be delivered from 4pm-7pm according to the text message I received from bobs. The driver called me at 1pm saying he was 5 mins away.. I had to leave work and lose pay so I could be there to accept the new bar. When they arrived they explained they needed to pick up the old bar. I explained to them that it wasn’t there because I was told that I would be able to keep it. They got me in contact with a customer service rep who told me I was wrong and basically to kick rocks. They had to reschedule another delivery for the new bar that was right there in the truck. I explained to her that it had to be in the morning and she said the delivery company won’t listen to the request and that if the time they set doesn’t work they would have to reschedule to a different day. I can’t just take off of work whenever because they keep messing up. Please do yourself a favor and shop at any other...
Read moreWhen our first Virgo sectional was delivered it was put together without a leg on the chaise section. The delivery driver never allowed time for me to inspect it, nor did he even ask for a signature. He signed the delivery document himself by drawing a line above the signature line where I was suppose to sign accepting the furniture. I reported this negligent and borderline fraudulent action to Bob’s. After I determined the leg was missing because of a missing insert to screw the leg onto, a replacement was ordered by my local Bob’s.
When the replacement arrived, I got the same delivery drivers. I was appalled they continued to use this subcontractor. This time they pulled the same trick. They set it up as fast as they can. Took no time to make it look nice, left the rug crooked and scrunched underneath the sofa, and darted out the door. No inspection again, no signature again. I even stopped them (my ring doorbell caught it!) and I asked them if I needed to inspect and sign for the delivery. Driver says “nah” and just keeps walking.
I got to inspecting the furniture then and found out that the brackets that hold the sectional together are very off. So when connected, the chaise would be uneven and sit above the ground. Unbelievable. Of course, I discover the driver did the exact same thing with the delivery receipt. Drew a line above the signature line where I was suppose to sign if I accept this item. Fraud and faulty furniture is what I got trying to purchase something from Bob’s. The white glove delivery is all gimmick. You don’t get anything other than shady subcontractors that desperately don’t want to have to put Bob’s cheap and poorly constructed furniture back on their trucks.
A couple of days later I notice the arm rest on the sofa makes a popping sound when I lightly press on the arm rest. Like the arm rest is made of some cheap cardboard.
My goodness, lesson learned for me. If I can help one person not make the same mistake I did, this review...
