In terms of disc golf, a very short 9 hole beginners course that is in a very VERY busy park. No arrows or map showing where some of the baskets are, so some searching for a couple of the pads is necessary unless you've played here before. This is a course you can play in 30 mins if it's just you. All that being said, the park is hoppin! The playground has super fun areas for everyone to play, pavilions for at least 4 birthday parties we saw while there on a Saturday. Basketball courts looked brand new and well kept, and the same goes for the pickle ball courts. This definitely isn't some place you would go looking for a serene nature environment as it's a park filled with lots of fun noises from people being out and enjoying themselves. The path around the park is well kept and would be easy to run, walk, or Rollerblade. This is also a dog friendly park. Overall, Gower Park is absolutely a catch-all for a place for the family to go, and everyone find something fun they would like to do. Sitting on the tank was fun, too. 3 stars because we came here specifically for the disc golf, and the disc golf course is meh. 5 stars for the rest of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad my son's birthday at this park yesterday, after trying 3 other parks that were all full. We had a good time. The biggest downfall honestly though, was that there's not a whole lot to do for little kids. The only playground there was so big. And don't get me wrong, my 2 year old also had a great time. But I'm sure she would have enjoyed it better if she would've had more things to play on. The landscaping here is also pretty bad. The mulch and wood chips need filled so badly. There are huge gaps and holes that made it hard for the kids to run around without tripping. They have a few covered areas with grills and a table but we started in the party area and we're asked politely to move by another group just cuz they had more people. I obliged because I didn't want any confrontation plus again they had more people but we also had a good bit and barely had room at the one table that's under the other awnings. The bathrooms were decent enough to use but could've been cleaner. But it was good enough for my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI play softball at Gower Park. There are 2 fields. Itās a lot of fun, but the infields can be a bit rough at times. As a 3rd baseman, itās scary sometimes to field a ground ball thinking that it may hit a rock and pop up to my face at any time. Also, the bases come off the base all the time. Tonight we had a player trying to round 2nd and go to 3rd and he wiped out due to 2nd base sliding off the base plate. Horrible! Gower has recently updated the facility to add several Pickle Ball courts. THE PARKING IS NOW A NIGHTMARE. Donāt try to go there Monday - Thursday from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. It is complete chaos. And there is nowhere to expand the parking. This was a gross oversight when creating the new pickle ball courts. Now you have to park at the Jasonās Furniture parking lot and walk over. Otherwise, you may get towed if you try to ācreateā a parking spot. So, itās not a bad park, but the parking is a nightmare, the fields are āokā and the bases need work. Iām sure itās better before 5:00pm, but donāt...
