I went in with the intentions of buying cabinets, sink, faucet, and flooring. I waited about 15 minutes for a guy named Scott to assist in their Design Services area. I was told that he was on his way back from somewhere. That wasnât the problem. I sat at the desk and he said, â I do have an 11:00 appointment just so you know.â It was 10:49 a.m. I said okay and was going to see if I could schedule to come back. He said he would help me until they showed. He asked mw what was the value of my house so he would know which cabinets to show me. I gave him a number of $300k. He said that his home was way more expensive than that. Then he showed me 2 types of cabinets that I should use bc my house wasnât worth anything, I guess. I did yell him I would prefer to buy what was in stock instead of âspecial orderâ cabinets. As we were going over the different types of cabinets, everything I liked, he said it was expensive. After the third time he told me that something was expensive, I asked him how did he know what was expensive for me. I told him that whatâs expensive to home may not be expensive to me. He pretended to agree. A minute later, he asked me where did I live. I told him I lived in Mauldin. I didnât ask him, but he told me he lived in Five Forks. I said, â I wouldnât dare.â He didnât say anything for about a minute. Once he found out who was doing the work at my home, he asked me how I knew him. I just told him I was referred to him.
We had to call the builder to clarify some measurements. He acted as if the question he asked him was answered. After sitting at computer and putting cabinets in the computer for the layout, he said that the sizes may not be accurate until he got the measurements. He was given the measurements. They were on the drawing as well. I was so frustrated.
I just said okay and took the papers. I went to my car and I say there looking at the papers he printed out.
A few minutes later, i noticed someone pulled up beside me in the parking lot. It was him. I rolled my window down. He asked me how did I like my Infiniti. I told him it was okay. He was driving the old Infiniti QX56. He said he bought his wife a new Q60, but she didnât like driving it. He said it was bigger than the one I have. I just nodded and told him that I believe the Q60 is a sporty coupe. He then said he would see me later. I told him to have a good day.
I am a 49 yo African American female. I had money to buy what I wanted and needed. I was nice to him, but this is how we are treated very often. He started the Moment he saw me. I was the only black person in the store. Had I said anything, it wouldâve been them against me. Then people wonder why things happen or why people have anger issues. You cannot tell me this person was right at all. If he treats all people of a different race like this, just imagine the money your business has lost and will continue to lose. And everyone will not walk away. He does not need Diversity Training to cover...
Read moreMy wife and I went by today to look at Kitchen upgrade stuff. We bought a door there a few months back and noticed a design counter up front. When we got there we had to wait a bit. Although there were 7 people standing behind the counter looking at us none of them apparently wanted to help us out. When I asked for help to buy kitchen cabinets they all just stared at me until finally one of them pointed to the only gentleman I could see working who was outside loading Windows in the rain for a customer. His name was Frank. I waited in the little design office for around 10 minutes while the employees all stood there watching Frank load windows and watching me wait. I finally asked one of them if they could let him know we needed his help in the cabinet area when he was done.
Once Frank got finished he came to help us and spent a solid 30 minutes walking us through the cabinet selections. We had a drawing of what we wanted our layout to be and also a wish list of extras if we could fit them in the budget. Frank helped us narrow down the style cabinet and countertops we wanted. Not only that but he alerted us to a sale that was coming up. He then offered to draw our kitchen for us and email it in a few days. We didnt really know that was an option but we were really excited for it. That is a free service that is offered there. We have been shopping around for cabinets for about a year and have had a couple quotes. All quotes were out of our budget honestly. When I asked Frank for a High end estimate he accommodated. It was about half of what the big box stores and private contractors wanted. The product we selected was a solid wood construction and looked better than we thought we could afford.
We walked away and thanked Frank for his help. Excited about the potential cost savings we decided to look at the Luxury Vinyl. Frank again came up to us to explain the differences in prices. We really liked one of the selections and he talked about that one being his favorite as well. He then told us about redoing his own kitchen with that product. He whipped out his phone and showed us the product we loved on his floor in his home. That sold me on buying from your store. if the employees are as excited to use the product they sell as we are to be using it then I am sold.
The first 3 stars are for prices. The 4th and 5th stars are for Frank. We will be spending a large sum of money with you because he took the time to show us why he loved the product he sells. I hope you recognize him in some way. All those fellas watched us and watched him load windows in the rain. He is an older gentleman and not one of them helped him. none of them anted to help me. Im sure he has closed the deal on many other purchases made at this store due to his knowledge and passion for...
Read moreWe recently completed a new custom build. Our builder sent me to Home Outlet for kitchen cabinets. I knew nothing about what to expect in this process, ended up with Kabinart, made in Tennessee! Our build progressed much slower than expected, but our kitchen cabinets were in this store waiting for us. After my kitchen installation by the builders "cabinet guys" we ran into issues with the soft close drawers not closing and uneven cabinet faces. We told our builder repeatedly we were having problems and he always said "we'll take care of it" but didn't. I think he reached out to Scott after I persisted. Scott called me and made an appointment to come to our house. Scott and Joe (from Kabinart) came to our home 3 times, totaling 22 hours of work, repairing what was installed incorrectly. It was a mess and at times very frustrating for Scott and Joe. They did EVERYTHING they could do to make my kitchen right. We are very thankful to both of them! I KNOW that I wouldn't have got this kind of service from the "cabinet guys" or the builder. THANK YOU...
