I arrived with a very large back pack and it was a hot day so I was sweaty. However, it is a brand new top of the line hiking pack, I was dressed to meet my accountant: new jeans, new leather dress boots, and a shirt with collar. I was fresh from the barber and clean-shaven. Yet, I was treated like a vagrant. I received indifferent service from the counterperson and glares from the manager/owner (?) even after I paid with cash for one of the more expensive items on the menu board (and their ice cream is as pricy as the gourmet and artisan ice cream boutiques in downtown a Portland) and tipped well over 30%. A couple of older women came in with dogs not on leashes and received a far more gracios reception. They offered a large number of items that you could have mixed into your ice cream. These ranged from candy bits to, cookie pieces, to decent looking fresh and canned fruit. My ice cream had an oddly grainy texture like it had large amounts of flour or cornstarch in it. This was baffling because there were no baked/bread goods mixed into my treat. The eating area was very clean, seating was plentiful and tables were adequately spaced and the store was well air conditioned. I knew I was not welcome there and ate some of my desert but threw most of my desert away and left as quickly...
Read moreThis is a type of mall that basically is just a collection of big box specialty stores, in a small area roughly organized as a neighborhood. It's okay, I've been to three or four of the stores over the years and appears there's only one restaurant there, anymore. At least I think Red Robin was the only one.
The Cost Plus World Market is just like all of their others, although they've taken the focus of foodstuffs that they used to have. They still have a food area but not as big. All of the furniture and accessory items were incredibly overpriced, I am assuming because they probably run big sales on those items. I've also been to the Best Buy electronics store and the Craft Warehouse. Both where as expected.
But it was rather disappointed at the number of empty storefronts that were for lease. Charming Charlie's has just recently closed down or is in the process of it. Part of the reason people like to go to malls like this is because there are many different places to go all in one trip. I don't know if they're charging too much rent or what, but it's definitely a put off.
Will I be back? Sure I will, but only because I need to go to one of the stores that are here, not because the mall was either...
Read moreThis was a fun get togther.. Several stores close.. I went to craft warehouse masks required. Only a few customers in the store. I found what I needed an left. I needed a phone cord an found what I needed also for a craft I had started recently so I was glad to have something to do. .. I did not stay any longer than I needed bc of the variant right now. There was only 5 people in Craftwarehouse. I only wanted to only get what was needed an get back home.. Their store was fully stocked with many crafts to do. When paying for my things I asked what was their policy on what i bought with a reciept to return procedure . the reason I did ask is what I experienced in another store. It is something I ask about as some stores will say this product was not purchased here an then you loose that $ without a reciept ect. It really bothers me when I was told I never bought something at a store an I keep all my recieots now bc I did find a reciept for a product.. It really is a issue when you buy something..so tommorow I am returning a product of a item.. Today no one was at another store as they did not have enough...
