Downtown Cookies — Attraction in Haddonfield

If you try the cookies at Downtown Cookies and say they aren’t the most delicious things you’ve ever eaten you can’t be telling the truth! Morgan and her bakers are artists with these cookies. These are massive, dense, delectable cookies with some classic and some unique flavors that Morgan has added her own flair to. She does a flavor of the month which are always on theme for a nearby holiday and they are so fun and absolute works of art. For our wedding, Morgan did an assortment of 5 cookie flavors of our choosing, plastic wrapped each, and then packaged them in individual boxes with ribbons of our color choice (to match our theme!) and then she made stickers and adorned them to each box. It was service beyond what I expected and the presentation was immaculate. We had the cookies placed at each table setting to ensure guests wouldn’t forget their favors and, walking around at our reception, we noticed more than a few cookie boxes had already been opened and sampled before the night’s conclusion. We went in for the second time yesterday and were not disappointed! When we first saw the shop being built, we assumed it was a franchise because of the pristine branding, the delivery van, etc. Yesterday, while standing inside the clean and nicely decorated shop, I noticed the collage of caricatures on the wall that reads “this is my family. The character in the center was labeled Morgan and I realized it was the woman behind the counter helping us.

She confirmed that it is her shop, and not part of a chain. Morgan explained that she began conceptualizing the brick and mortar store in March after delivering from her personal vehicle was no longer feasible/when this Haddonfield storefront became available. She officially opened here December 11, 2020, and we are so glad she did!

We’ve gotten the cookies and cream cookie both times we’ve been in (so good I’ve eaten before remembering to take a picture), and this time we also got the hot chocolate cookie. The cookies are substantially sized and I believe $3.25 each. They also sell take-and-bake dough balls by the dozen.

I had the best experience with this bakery. I wanted to send cookies to my daughter’s friend’s family in NJ who hosted her over the weekend as a thank you. We are from Texas so I did a search for bakeries in that area and loved the menu and the way the cookies looked. I spoke to the owner and she graciously took care of everything and even delivered them herself. I got a report back from the family that the cookies were absolutely amazing and in particular the peppermint chocolate was a crowd pleaser! I am so appreciative of how helpful Morgan was and how easy she made it for me. I can’t wait to try downtown...
