I have shopped at this store for many years. The 'renovation' is an improvement in many ways but takes getting used to. They can only do so much with the space that they have. I wish, when their lease was up, that they had moved to larger quarters. There are enough vacant stores in town. The department with the most improvement is the household goods, now on large metal shelf units. The Good Will on Amity Rd. had these way before Hamden. The departments that need improvement are the ones that have so many items that it is next to impossible to move the hangers to look at an item. A chat, not long ago, with one of the several store managers met with agreement about this when pointed out. The back parking lot needs cleaning up, on a regular basis. The broken glass and debris on the ground from the dumpster in the back lot is not good.. The change from two entrances, one on the now closed front side door makes it less convenient to enter. When it is icy and snowy customers who park on the side of building have a challenge walking to the only entrance, at back of building.. There is ONE handicapped parking spot. If taken and you need it, you are out of luck. It should be moved to the other side of that parking row, nearest the Drop Off door. The quantity of jewelry is disappointing. The Amity Rd. store has much more and more selection and MUCH less expensive. Wonderful earrings, for example, at 99 cents. All in all, the renovation is an improvement but the...
Read moreI don't know who is the store manager here but this store is great,I have been home since Covid-19 but decided to stop in today for some last minute gifts, the store was clean and nicely organized, the selection of books and movies took up most of my time there were so many to choose from,I was able to actually pick up items without things falling all over the place,I really was pleased it was a one stop shop for me today, plenty of times I have came we comment on the bad experiences we also need to comment on the good, what ever changes that are being made at this location i think its great, the only downside is I couldn't show longer because I needed to use the bathroom and unlike before they closed the bathrooms, thats understandable but I'm just not used to that when I come here, thats the only reason I gave a 4-star...
Read moreCan someone explain how a place that survives on donations and then marks it up 1000% is unable to discount or better the price. So I just witnessed someone trying to buy some used not perfect luggage for a missionary trip to take clothes to the needy. And was going to buy 3 suitcases but asked the manager if able to do all 3 for 15 bucks less and his response was where else can you buy 3 suitcases for 50 bucks hmmm then my question is where would you get 3 suitcases for free duh. You have no overhead on your products but yet don’t discount! People should really think before donating here. I think this is all a scheme to get merchandise for free and then sell it to make a huge profit. Has anyone ever gone on google and look at the CEOs net worth like seriously. Free = cheaper than new...
