Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center — Attraction in Hampton

The gallery exhibits are free and WONDERFUL. Really worth a visit every couple od months at least. They have an Arts League (lovely encouraging people who get together to promote continued learning and creativity, and to socialize) with Tuesday morning paint sessions and a Watercolor Society that meets Sunday afternoons. The entire staff is an absolute delight, and their exhibits are amazing. Primarily featuring local and regional artists, each exhibit takes you on an amazing journey. The current display is themed to represent Hampton specifically, and showcased a timeline room, an educational display from the Hampton University library, and pieces that the artists felt represented this rich and historic place. Very nice gallery/museum with an old fashioned, quirky layout. It's in (I just discovered) the old public library building and is, still, quiet and is also kept up very well.
