Blue Skies Gallery — Attraction in Hampton

I love this gallery! Its small but cute. They have paintings from all sorts of local artists which makes for a variety of painting styles. It's not just the paintings either. There's also other art pieces by the artists that are sometimes displayed. You can also find unique nik-naks not found anywhere else. Like my sister and I saw some organic soaps, chapsticks, jewelry, clothing ect. Everything is kinda organized by artist and their work. So one area will have some work by the artist and on the side you'll find a little back story on the artist themselves. The owner of the store is very nice and if you go at the right time, you might be able to meet the artist in person! This gallery is free and it does allow you to buy paintings. And dpending on the artist you may even be allowed to take pictures of your favorite art piece, just make sure you ask the store owner first. This gallery really is like a little gem and I can't wait to go back!

This gallery has some great artists. A piece of artwork had a price beside it and when I took it down it had a more expensive price on the back. I asked if they would reach out to the artist and see if they would honor the price. The lady said she changed her prices the week before and the tag was a mistake. I ask once again politely if she would reach out to the artist and the reply was I’m the owner of the gallery with a major attitude….I guess the artist has no say. If I was the artist and went up on my prices the week before I would definitely honor the price. I started not to buy the 2 other pieces I picked out but I didn’t want to hurt the other artist over the owners...

I called Blue Skies Gallery (twice) because they now sell Flax and I wanted to inquire as to if they had several items that I wanted to purchase, the owner was very rude and rushed me off the phone. However, she didn't know that I was a prospective customer and an avid lover of flax/linen. I do most of my purchases of Flax/Linen at on line boutiques and I thought that because she was local, I would do business with her - well she just loss a great prospective customer who lives in Flax! If you are looking for good customer service, don't go to Blue Skies Gallery - you won't receive it there, take your money and spend it where you are...
