Bozek Markets — Attraction in Hamtramck

I almost never have anything that I want to complain about as far as the store goes.

You can get your basics here, or you can get all the fancy polish nom-noms. And I got to tell you, this place has some of the best bread on Earth.

No really, on earth. They get all these bakers that have all these traditional breads and find over by the deli, but if you go in the back part of the store, the little hidden alcove that is easy to mess up in your first time when you're not sure it's there, they have a section where they have fresh baked rolls and biscuits, and donuts and other baked goods that they make right in the store for dirt cheap.

I don't know what else to say, if you like European food or polish food, this is probably a cool store for you to come to. If you like sausage or kielbasa, or ham, this is definitely the store for you to come to. If you're one of those people that like head cheese, you just absolutely need to come here.

If you like smoked fish, they just have this huge section of smoked fish.

I like the products of this market. I lived in the former Soviet Union in the 80's and I can find many of the products related to Eastern Europe cuisine here. I'm also a cook so I come here. My only grivance is the not so good, the majority of the time customer service. I don't want to pay the race card, I'm not of European appaerience and I don't want o say that that is the reason but, the stafff strugles to be friendly to me even though I'm very friendly to them. I almost feel like I'm pulling teeth.. It's important to look at your customer's face when you are taking to them so they feel recognized and appreciated,, not jumping on your cellphone before you have give your customer the receipt. This is such a nice little grocery with lots of Polish foods. The cake selection is extensive, the hot bar is nicely stocked with tasty foods, the selection of frozen perogies is huge, the deli has lots of quality meats and cheeses, there are so many wonderful imported delicious butters to choose from, lots of jarred pickled items, beautiful fresh produce and breads, and their meat locker has the most wonderful cuts of meat at great prices and it's freezing cold which is a treat on a hot summer day! The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this wonderful store. I just miss their old homemade pickles and sauerkraut that you could buy by the pound. I would love to see that...
