Harker Heights Public Library and Activities Center — Attraction in Harker Heights

I have been coming to this library for quite some time and unfortunately, this will not be the best review. I have to agree with the others when they say that the library can be seen as a daycare, rather than an actual library. When I first noticed it, I assumed that I must have came in on the wrong day. I assumed it was a day for activities and play but I have came in several different days as well as different times and have still had the same experiences. This library can be extremely noisy and rambunctious, a turn off for those wanting to accomplish classwork and/or studying. Loud patrons with personal conversations are allowed. They have various events/okay staff. But the noise factor is too overbearing and I don't want to have to put in headphones just to block out the noise. Update 03/29/2023 customer service was lacking today. I called prior to coming in to see if they can print documents. I asked if I could email the documents for print, and that is not how it’s done. Instead of offering a solution, the clerk just stared blankly at me. After a couple minutes I said, it’s okay, I’ll go to UPS. Needless to say, she was happy to see me go. Why do ppl do the bare minimum? It’s not that hard to do your job. Won’t be praising the library anymore.

I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of books they have for adult fiction and nonfiction readers. I needed to find a quiet place to work, and I thought the library would be an excellent choice. I've been going to this library for quite some time ever since I found out from a friend and so far it's really nice and they have good selection of books and movies. However I noticed that some of the book shelves are always unorganized especially in the young adult section and most of the blu rays and dvds are scratched up or unplayable. Some of the staff are nice except for one person is rude to the point where I didn't want her to check out my stuff nor come back. One last thing I want to add is that there was an issue when they couldn't find the item I returned in the drop box and I was almost charged for the late fee but thankfully they did found it. It's really a nice library and I would definitely recommend others to go but the downfall is that the books shelves are not organized well and one of the staff...
