Subway — Restaurant in Harker Heights

Oh boy, where do I start? I have too many complaints about this specific joint. First, the young man behind the counter was trying desperately to get me to order more meat for an increased price. We said no. Then, the young man at the counter asked me if I wanted a drink. My wife and I asked for water cups, only to be asked, "Oh, you want the free stuff?" We said we did not want any soda. He then said that they give us water cups but that people can get whatever they want from the fountain. He again reiterated that we were getting the free stuff. I made it clear that we were not going to get anything other than water and that we were not going to cheat him or the store out of anything. He then said, "Oh, you can get whatever you want, I don't care. This is not my store anyway." I did not want to make a scene and just walked away after our sandwiches were given to us. In addition, this young man was criticizing a man who went through the drive-thru, telling me that he was lazy for not wanting to 'take three steps to walk into the store."

I don't know who hired or supervises this young man, but I suspect that this restaurant will lose clients like they lost me this day. If someone in management wishes to reach out to me, I will happily tell them the name of this young man, who I hope finds a job he really enjoys and takes seriously.

Subway has had a good reputation in my experience. I have met many franchisee owners who keep their store clean and are involved on the day to day operations of their restaurant. I don't know what happened here. Save yourself sarcasm and unnecessary comments from someone who should not be behind...

Clean and organized. Friendly service. Pretty normal.

I was at an older building that had been upgraded. The color yellow is less visible. Very neutral. No Subway pictures anywhere.

The prices are much higher than they used to be. Not too happy with that. 😐

When looking up at the menu, it's changed a lot. They have a fancy menu with sandwich names to match the ingredients in them. I got "The Hot Italiano". Which comes with salami and jalapenos as well as other meats and veggies with a new dressing that replaced the regular Italian dressing. I think they should have kept their original Italian dressing because the replacement wasn't very good.

The bread was dry and crumbly.

The sandwich just seemed small which is quite the opposite of how it's portrayed on the menu board.

Also, the employees don't know what's on these subs. If you say I want a #8 Italiano, they don't know what all that includes. I had to read the items on the menu for them.Two other times before this I ordered a different sub and it lived up to it's name, but the employees still needed me to read the ingredients expected for that sub.

In summary...

Can you still order subs built the way you want it? Yes

Why the fancy menu and names? Not sure? Maybe Subway feels they need to justify their high prices with fancy words.

What's up with the new decor? Maybe they want us to forget we are at Subway.

With inflation and the cost of everything so high, fancy words don't make it all better. Maybe I'll go to "Which...

HarkerHeights Subway is the most unprofessional staff I've encountered.Me an old co-workers met up for lunch month back which would've been Dec 2018 And one of the young ladies knew one of my co-workers an at a lunch hour began yelling past her work counter while she had customers in front of her while we were already seated speaking to him.we all said wow she's yelling to speak to you we laughed it off but customers in front her didn't enjoy her loud mouth yelling over them while they were in front of her.An the subject of her talk was not professional ,this young lady has been there for a while so you think she would know better.It was just a conversation to put it lightly she should've not been speaking about out loud.I know it's how were all raised but please your at work .the other thing was you could tell she didn't brush her hair that morning nor wash her face it was very noticeable that she still had the sleep stuff around the eyes we all have but we wash our faces in morning an I didn't like looking at that.simple because It made my stomach turn thinking that she was dirty an touching our food.She did have gloves on it was still thoughts on my mind as I couldn't help but notice these things on the lady making...
