I don't think there's anything bad I could say about this shop. I think a lot of the bad reviews on here are stemmed from people who don't actually look into the business. They have it posted everywhere that everything is either done by emailing the artist you want to work with directly (every email is posted on the door), or going through social media, which isn't unusual in this day and age. When I first moved here, this shop caught my eye just by the look of it. I walked in, not having any social media, I asked my questions and I got my answers. Since I didn't have social media, Ashley, one of the artists brought me to the room and asked what I was looking for and personally showed me every artists work on her iPad. When I told her I wanted to work with her, she gave me her email and told me to send her my ideas and it was smooth sailing from there. This is a smaller shop, so making an appointment is the best and appropriate way to go. Even in walk in's are available you can't walk in and expect to be seen by artists already working on their scheduled clients. They take pride in their work, and will spend any amount of time to make your vision come to life. It's not just come in, get a tattoo quick type of business. They are a quality shop and if thats what you're looking for, this is the shop for you. Every single one of the artists working in this shop do amazing quality work, and they don't just tattoo you, they make you feel welcomed and they listen to you, they get to know you, and if you don't want that, then they'll just sit and chill with you during your session. Anyway, I LOVE black heart tattoo collective. I have all my tattoo plans to be done at this shop! My girl Ashley has started me on my tattoo journey and every idea I've brought to her, she's brought to life in ways I didn't even imagine because SHE listens to me and what I like. I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience with Eric and Black Heart Tattoo Collective! When first emailing Eric to get info on a pretty good size cover up, he was very responsive and helpful with ideas of what would work best on the existing tattoo. From the moment I walked in I felt so welcomed. (The receptionist, for lack of better words I’m sure she does a lot more than that, is super sweet!) Eric had a design ready to show me when arriving to our first appointment, it was beautiful and could not have been more perfect!! The 19 year old tattoo I had was not great looking, on top of not relating to it anymore, that made for a pretty self conscious me. I never felt any judgement or made to feel dumb for it by anyone in the studio (and I think almost everyone stopped in to see what was going on and they were all super nice too!) and that meant the world to me. Eric is so kind and chill, and overall such a great person to work with! His work speaks for itself. The lines are so clean, the colors are so bold, the details so good! And the different shades in the face blows my mind every time I look at it! Eric’s work truly is a beautiful piece of art. When I first started my search several years ago, I was looking through social media for the best local artists when my sister-in-law came across Danny’s instagram. I was really impressed by his portfolio and reviews so I scheduled a consult. Full disclosure, I met with a few other local artists with impressive portfolios as well, but their personalities did not align with mine (one even seemed annoyed I was even trying to put my own input into the art). When I met Danny Mack, we clicked. Danny is easy to talk to, keeps you at ease during a relatively uncomfortable process, and his artwork is second to NONE. Not to mention, he is extremely transparent about cost, the process and he doesn’t drain the clock to try and squeeze more money out of you like other artists. The shop is extremely clean, inviting and laid back. The other artists and employees are very talented and friendly as well which is a huge part of the shop’s great atmosphere!
