We actually did not shop but stopped just outside Strawberry Square and adjacent to the Witicker Center at Au Bon Lieu Creperie which is this amazing little whole in the wall dining experience!! They make amazing food and have beautiful wonderful people running the place. The staff was very kind patient and helpful and the crepes were just out of this world actually the best I have ever tasted. Their homemade carmel filling is well it is the stuff that dreams are built on... once we realized that they had birds in cages outside as well as al fresco dining that was the only choice though the indoor accomodations are small they have it fixed up so cozy you honestly feel like you are at home curling up on a window seat with a lovely treat ready to read your favorite book. Once I realized I where the place was I, did peak inside Strawberry Square at the new Sephora that just opened but my mom stopped me before I entered and spent the rest of my life savings in store since the other half has already been spent at Sephora's online store. With that we left... of and on street parking was incredibly easy to figure out since parking meters are like dinosaurs only found in museums... the information you needed was clearly posted and really...
Read moreConvenient to the Capitol Complex, with good options for a quick meal and a few shops. Scenic, and I kind of love the clockwork art with the rolling pool balls.
Love the little coffee shop on the first floor, and the fact that it offers not just cow milk, but also soy, rice, almond, and macadamia milk! (They let me try a sip of just the macadamia milk by itself, because I'd never heard of it before, and I loved it so much that I came back the next morning for an iced latte!) It's as overpriced as any other trendy little coffee shop, but still a lovely treat. A+ there!
And kudos to the Japanese/Vietnamese fast food in the food court, as well as the candy vendor under the escalator.
Hallmark oddly lacked any trinket marked with Harrisburg itself, the Capitol Building, or any other suitable little souvenir to take home for family who didn't come along on this work trip.
There's a Verizon store, Auntie Anne's, a charter school for kids and a college satellite campus for older students, as well as a civil service location, fitness center, and a bit more. Not bad for an urban mall that still feels seriously...
Read moreI go to Strawberry Square often for lunch, I love the town square atmosphere and the lighting, and it is always well heated and comfortable in the winter which I find surprising considering how high the ceilings are. It's a great outing for kids with Whitaker Center in the same building. The food options remain bad, but it is so quick and convenient it's unavoidable. There have been two recent additions for lunch at a higher price point, but just getting a variety of basic/healthy salads (house, Greek, Cesar) or deli sandwiches is not an option at a reasonable price. Most of the establishments will give you burger toppings for a salad, which I don't consider a real salad. The Mexican themed kiosk has an amazing breakfast, but the lunch options are cold and overcooked if you just order from what they have ready-made. I believe they prepare better options as ordered if you like Mexican dishes. Tropicana Smoothie doesn't remain consistent with their preparations. I also would love if all the kiosks would provide trays instead of bagging everything so we could eliminate waste and maintain a more...
