TL;DR: Best Food Ever, Great View, Great Service. Spent $250USD after tip; 2 drinks, an appetizer, 2 entrees, and dessert. Best money I've ever spent.
Food (& drink): I think this may have been the best meal of my entire life. I've had food at many different places and even some I thought were the best ever, but this place takes first place for sure! Let me take you through this journey.
First we started off with an Island Mule which had the restaurants house made Ginger Beer. This had the perfect level of spice and a good amount of rum, it is in my top 5 Mule's I've had worldwide. My partner had the Mango lemonade which was also stellar and made in house, extremely flavourful drinks.
Then came the caeser salad we ordered to share and the bread with olive oil. The bread was perfectly toasted, warm and herby, dipping it in the warm olive oil just added to the experience. The salad was house made dressing which was light but flavourful and the parmesan was clearly sliced from a fresh block. The croutons were average, but overall the salad was great.
Next came the Entrees, we ordered the Ahi steak (in this case the Yellowfin Tuna) and the Surf & Turf. The Ahi steak was so tender and perfectly seared on the outside, it was like butter melting in your mouth. It came with a large stalk of broccoli in a chili sauce which complimented the dish well, and lastly a side of jalapeno mashed potatoes. I thought this may be overdoing the spice, but it paired so nicely and was not too spicy, just brought out the flavour super well.
The Surf and Turf came with a centre cut filet mignon, mashed potatoes, charred kale, and scallops in a corn cream sauce with some cherry tomatoes. The steak had goat cheese butter on top and was so tender, it melted in your mouth. The kale (which normally I wouldn't get) was charred and seasoned perfectly that it just had so much flavour it didn't even taste like kale! The mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency and were buttery, and even though amazing were the weakest part of the dish. Lastly the scallops in the sauce, they were simply divine, no fishy taste, they were also very tender and just soaked up the corn cream sauce to burst with flavour.
For dessert with had the creme brule. Though I am not a fan of the hard sugary shell of cremem brule, I absolutely loved the cream filling! My partner was more than happy to have the hard sugary shell and said it was the best cremem brules she's ever had!
Service: From the moment we walked in we felt very warm welcomes and friendly greetings, we checked in for our reservation and only had to wait 1-2 minutes before someone was showing us to our seats. Our server was super nice and patient, and did not push us along to order or anything, this was really nice compared to some other restaurants where they try to turnover people fairly quickly. He gave us the slight changes to the menu for the day due to product availability and provided his recommendation (which was spot on). Like I said there was no rush to order or to eat or to pay, just relaxing and enjoying the view.
Atmosphere: Amazing, we had a reservation at 5:45 with the sunset at 6:45, they know people plan to have dinner here around sunset because of the spectacular views so they have no problem with you getting up to walk outside and take pictures and will only open the shaders 5-10 minutes before sunset so you aren't blinded and hot by the sun during your meal, but still get to enjoy the lovely sunset.
Even though it's pricey, I cannot recommend this place enough. It is the best meal I've had in my life, and the view was just a...
Read moreMain Points: 1 - Highly overpriced for the food quality. 2 - Atmosphere was So-So. 3 - Staff was excellent. Bottom line: Walked away with major "tourist trap" vibes given how often locals recommended it.
1 - My biggest thought is the food was WAAAY overpriced for the quality. Their menu was a little small, but the food sounded good. Opinions differ within our group (14ppl) on good/vs bad for individual dishes. However, the overall consensus was that the flavor profile was "lacking". Ex. I had the chocolate cake as my entre (Don't judge me, Muggle!). If you wanted to try the cake, just pick up a basic chocolate pound cake from Walmart, put a scoop of plain yogurt and raspberry jelly next to it, add fancy culinary name to it, and boom, there ya go! Honestly, yours would probably have more of a chocolate flavor, and be more moist. It was not terrible, but for the price, can I at least get some chocolate syurrup on it?
For a dessert it was not a bad portion, but other dishes were not as ample. For instance, the 2 crab cakes were delicious, but each was the size of a single piece of sushi. An average sized man could have eaten both in two bites. For 35$.... Where's the rest of it?
Finally... 75$ for a steak (I think it was 7-9oz.)? For the price, you could at least have that hot male waiter cut it up and feed it to me... Shirtless. (Speaking of.... Someone please make that business plan a real thing!)
Their Famous Mai Tai was good! It earned it's tittle. Just, for 20$ can we get it in a big-boy glass, please?
2 - Atmosphere was so-so. Don't get me wrong.... It's a stunning view. But you are in Kauai... just about everywhere is a stunning view. They did open up the walls so you could experience "outdoors dining" while still being inside. But I think we paid extra for no AC... So unless the wind blew, and it often did, but not always, you had nothing to cool you off. And with a packed building on a Saturday night, let's just face it... Folks were getting musty.
Parking... Valet it or be ready to walk a bit. Not bad for us, but for older couples or those with disabilities, it may be an issue. The whole area is rather tightly packed, so nothing much can be done, I'm afraid. Honestly, I think they are doing the best they can with what they have.
3 - Service was excellent. Miss Rose, and they rest of the staff, were all amazing. Knowledgeable, prompt, and attentive. Mrs. Rose recited the menu from memory. You go girl! You all deserve raises!
As far as prices go, we knew ahead of time it was pricey. Cost for 2 ppl: 3 Mai Tais 1 appetizer 1 dessert Total Was 110-120$ (including tax and a gruitity for our large group).
We went home and ate some leftover pizza afterwards.
Would I go again?... No. Would I recommend? ... For most ppl, No.
If you are hungry and/or looking to feed a large group, you're better off going elsewhere.
But this would be ok as a romantic dinner for two for a special occasion... If you don't mind it being packed and a little noisey.
P.S. There was no type of music or sound ambiance and hearing the waves was difficult over other sounds and conversations. Those with hearing aids might want to...

My husband and I have lived almost our whole lives in Washington State, but didn't feel like any of the local vendors matched our vibe. The island of Kauai has been on my travel bucket list for awhile now, so I perused through its venues and sent some inquiries. Tiffany from the Beach House was the quickest to reply, and was very warm and willing to help with any questions I had. And I had a LOT lol.
To be completely transparent, in case it might help you relate, I am all about the details. They are an all-inclusive venue which means that every vendor has to be booked and coordinated by them. This meant putting a lot of trust into their hands, and letting go. They gave me a couple of things to take care of myself but everything else: The Officiant, the overall design, the solo Guitarist, DJ, Photographer, Florist, Rentals, Food & Drinks, Day of Coordinator... They handled it all!
Even though they communicated with me thoroughly and promptly throughout the entire planning process, I was wrecked with nerves the days leading up to our wedding day... hoping that the day would turn out the way I had envisioned for the last 2 years. But oh my... It was BETTER. I wish I could put into words just how dreamy and magical it felt when I walked down the aisle to meet meet my groom at our ceremony arch overlaying the beautiful view of Poipu Beach... UN. REAL.
All of the vendors were amazing. Kealoha, our Florist, designed the bridal bouquet of my dreams!! And Kelvin Ho, our Officiant, is a man of true aloha and a poet! His words were so heartfelt and sincere, and had us in all the feels. Aya Productions, our videographers were awesome! They had a vision and gave my groom and I clear direction for the footage they wanted to capture. I cannot wait to see the video they produce for us!! Julia, our photographer, delivered a breathtaking wedding gallery. Paul, our solo guitarist, played such beautiful tunes, I almost forgot he was playing live for us until he came up to my husband and I after the ceremony to give us his best wishes
