I did the sunset cruise with Kepoikai. Off the bat, there was very little organization. We arrived 10-15 minutes before the sail was supposed to start, and we were all waiting around asking each other if we were all doing the same one. After we were supposed to have already left (at least from what is advertised), the deckhands got off the boat and began helping everyone on. It is advertised that you might get wet… I will confirm that you will get absolutely SOAKED depending on the time of day and high-tide. As with many catamarans, you enter the boat through stairs up the middle, but with high-tide approaching, this was a bit difficult and I was in waist-deep water trying to get on. As we got off the boat at the end, a wave literally crashed over someone’s head and he was drenched from head to toe, I felt bad to laugh. The cruise itself was very packed, making it a bit difficult to get comfortable at all. To add to the situation, there were 8 people vomiting, screaming, groaning, grunting, and any other noise you could think of, for over half of the cruise. I did think it was definitely a bit rocky, especially for a rather small catamaran, but I never felt unsafe. I cannot fully blame the company, because I do think it is also your responsibility as a grown adult to avoid going on a small catamaran during high-tide if you know you get seasick. There was an entire family seasick and crying, grunting at every single wave for 30 mins straight (until he had to throw up off the back)…. why would you think to do this if your whole family gets seasick? Overall, a...

🌺 An Exceptional Experience on the Kepoikai II Catamaran – Waikiki Beach, Hawaii 🌺

If you’re looking for an unforgettable way to experience the beauty of Waikiki Beach, I highly recommend setting sail on the Kepoikai II Catamaran. My time on board was nothing short of fun and memory making.

From the moment we stepped onto the boat, the crew made us feel welcomed and at ease. They were friendly, professional, and passionate about sharing the beauty of the ocean. The boat itself was spacious, well-maintained, and offered plenty of comfortable seating and a cool net space to fully enjoy the ride with cool splashes of the ocean water.

Cruising along the crystal-clear waters of Waikiki was incredibly peaceful and invigorating. The vibrant blue of the ocean, the warm breeze, and the incredible views of Diamond Head and the shoreline created the perfect backdrop for the experience. There’s something about being out on the water that immediately brings a sense of calm and freedom.

The atmosphere on board was fun, and relaxing. The crew played great music, offered refreshing drinks, and genuinely took care of everyone to make sure we were having the best time. It was the perfect mix of adventure and chill—perfect adventure to sit back and soak it all in.

The Kepoikai II Catamaran is not just a boat ride—it’s a memory you’ll carry with you long after you leave Hawaii. It’s a fantastic way to see Waikiki from a new perspective, connect with the ocean, and experience the true spirit of aloha.

🌊 Highly recommend! I would absolutely do it...

We watched and evaluated all the Waikiki beach cat rides. This looked like the only one that really sailed. The rest were glorified Peal Harbor cruise cats, suitable for a suit and tie and your umbrella drink. Being raised as a seasoned island sailer, I wanted to go SAILING! These guys didn’t disappoint! We did a “run” (sailing term) toward the horizon to the deep blue channel. Saw Diamond Head, a pod of dolphins and turtles! Turned around and surfed back in. They only used the engine to get off the beach and past the waves! Perfect! I was on the trampoline the whole time and got submerged a bunch. I felt I owed the captain more money when we got back because the price was that reasonable! I didn’t have to skipper the boat or put anything away or maintain the boat. Winning! There is a similar size cat that also does snorkeling tours . . . They never unfurl their sails! Hello? The others, you might as well be on a barge. No thrill. I might sail this again tomorrow! Best deal and kept secret on Waikiki Beach! Btw I had three grand daughters and the were able to get them life jackets as to surf was up. Very...

Very relaxed informal sunset cruise. Chilled music, chilled vibe, guys working the boat seem happy and friendly. Cheap drinks or BYO (no glass) which is fantastic. So nice being out on the water and looking back at Waikiki. Great price. Probably wouldn't recommend for young kids/babies as its a fairly small vessel. No idea where the life jackets were... There is a toilet but you have to be agile to go down into it via a small hatch which has a glass lid so if anyone cared to look they could. I had a few drinks though so couldn't hold it but made my friend stand above. Will definitely do again...Some girls were even sitting right up on top of the roof which looked fun, if somewhat a little precarious. You can sit on the netting part which gets pretty wet so might pay to wear your togs (swimsuit) if you're gonna sit there. Great way to spend a few hours.
