I recently visited Kith in Honolulu during their fall launch, and I must say, the experience left a lasting impression. This was my second visit to the store during my stay on Oahu while visiting family. I had been eagerly anticipating their fall collection, especially since some items were trickling in earlier in the week. As a loyalty member, I received early access the day before the launch, but unfortunately, the specific set (shorts and button-up) I wanted had already sold out online.
Determined to find the set, I arrived at the store right at 10 a.m. and waited in line to get in. The store was bustling with activity, and when I asked about the items, I was told that due to being on an island, some shipments were arriving late. I was understandably disappointed, so I sat down in the shoe section to see if anything else from the collection caught my eye.
While I was browsing, Ramsey, one of the store employees, noticed I seemed a bit discouraged and checked in with me. He asked if I was on a tight schedule and then offered to check the back room to see if the items I wanted were still unpacked in one of the new shipment boxes. I told him I was happy to wait. A short while later, Ramsey returned to inform me that the items hadn’t been delivered yet, but he did find them on the manifest and assured me they would arrive the next day.
Since I was staying with family in Kaneohe, which is quite a drive, Ramsey kindly offered to place the items on hold for me to try on the next day. I gave him my name and number, and of course, I couldn’t leave Kith without buying something—so I grabbed a pair of socks (because who visits Kith without picking something up?).
The next day, I returned about an hour after opening. I mentioned to the staff that Ramsey had set aside two items for me to try on, and sure enough, he brought them out shortly after. The set was exactly what I was looking for and fit perfectly! Ramsey’s attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied made all the difference.
Kith Honolulu has definitely earned my loyalty. Their customer service, especially Ramsey’s exceptional care, ensured I had a great experience despite the initial disappointment. I will continue to support this location and look forward to...
Read morePRETENTIOUS. THE WAIT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! THE LINE IS A MARKETING PLOY!!! TERRIBLE STAFF!!! NOT A CUSTOMER-FOCUSED BRAND!
Location: Honolulu, HI
I am extremely disappointed. This is my first experience with the Kith brand and I am not impressed or pleased with the staff. The Honolulu staff is young, pretentious, and not customer or user friendly with the exception of the security guard at the entrance. The Honolulu location operates like a night club with the allure of a long line. When in fact, there were more employees than customers in the store. The staff's attitude gave off the vibe as "we" the customer were lucky to have made it into this exclusive store. That completely turned me off from purchasing anything even though there were some pieces that I would wear. They had little to no concern about the customer or in selling any of the products. It was similar to dealing with a bunch of high-schoolers who thought they were cool because they were sporting the latest popular brand. You would have thought that the employees were making more money than their customers with the air of arrogance surrounding the guided "tour" of the store. FYI, I don't need a personal guide to shop in a store that's less than 7,000 square feet. I waited in line for 2.5 hours to purchase a pair of the Nike Air Force One Hawaii edition shoe. Only to find out that they were sold out 3 days ago. I wasn't disappointed that the shoe was sold out, it's a popular shoe. However, I was confused and frustrated since there were about 12 mannequins throughout the store and in the store windows that are ALL wearing the shoe.....which means they are NOT SOLD OUT!!! I was informed by the sales rep after the 2.5 hour wait that they are not authorized to sell the shoes on the mannequins. This is terribly deceiving as it gives customers the impression that the store has the shoe in stock. Additionally, there were at least 3 employees that were wearing the exclusive shoe which again implies that KITH IS NOT CUSTOMER FOCUSED. When your employees have the product before your customers that is terrible advertising. OVERALL DISAPPOINTED AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING FOR...
Read moreI had a great experience with their products, but unfortunately, my interaction with the employees left much to be desired. My friends and I visited the store spontaneously around 8:45 pm with the intention of trying on some clothes to check for the right size. However, the staff informed us that they were closing in 10 minutes and we couldn't try anything on but could still make purchases. I understood the time constraint and decided to return the next day to try on an outfit I really liked.
I was impressed with their designs and quality, so I proceeded to make a purchase. At the checkout counter, there was an employee named Davis. I asked him to ring up my items but received no response. He eventually scanned my clothes but didn't acknowledge my request to double-check the size. I asked again and finally got a response, but he repeated my question back to me, making me feel embarrassed.
To my surprise, he suddenly asked for my passport. When I inquired why he needed it, he mentioned something about matching it with a credit card. I hadn't mentioned using a credit card, nor had I shown him one. He seemed to be making assumptions about me without any basis. I was quite upset but managed to keep my composure and told him I would pay with cash.
As he counted my money and wrapped my clothes, he appeared visibly unhappy. Once the transaction was complete, he left the shopping bag on the counter without saying a word to indicate that my purchase was ready for me to take. I had to grab my items and leave the store on my own. It was the worst checkout experience I've ever had, and it seems that their top priority is not providing friendly customer service.
Furthermore, I felt that I was treated unfairly, as Davis repeated my words back to me and asked for my passport, possibly due to my Asian background and different English accent. This experience has left a lasting negative impression on me, and I have no intention of returning...
