Background: I've been a member here for over 3 years, and I visit 3-4 times a week.
Pros: Centrally located near many stores, restaurants, and the Hazlet train station is just a 5 minute drive.
The equipment is always in working order, and it appears that when they do break down or malfunction, they are repaired pretty quickly.
Everyone pretty much focuses on their workout and keeps to themselves. No lunks and no divas.
Its a safe gym as many people leave their lockers open without incident.
Cons: The changing stalls are always dirty. I find everything from hair, Q-tips, dirt, etc. on the floor.
The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly. I have family that has worked at a different PF, and they cleaned every few hours. No matter what time I come to work out, the bathroom is dirty. Early am, afternoon or evening.
I voiced my concerns to the staff, and they said they would handle it. A few months later, I spoke with a manager (Ben), and he assured me he would handle it. Weeks later, and the bathrooms are the same. I am extremely frustrated that I now have to take time out of my busy schedule to write this review.

Read moreBeen going to this gym for some time now, gym itself is good. Machines majority of the time are working, normally not too crowded etc. Employee wise I never see any employees actually doing anything around the gym such as cleaning equipment, doing rounds, etc. They are always behind the counter eating (which is gross), on their phones, or talking to each other. They have an older man there who takes his job way too serious and is extremely rude to members. I went in last week (mind you I pay on a month to month basis) I didn’t make a payment for March as of yet, but already paid for the month of February. The employee told me I couldn’t use the gym since I didn’t pay for the month of March yet, but we are still in February. I showed him that I paid the month of February and on the app my account says active as the month isn’t over yet. He was extremely nasty and said “oh well can’t let you in”. Every time I see him he always is snarly, and I honestly feel like he enjoys telling members no or to leave.
If there was another planet closer to home I honestly would have switched by now, but normally I just try to avoid going at night as that’s when I realized he is there...

As a Prime member, my wife and I initially encountered some confusion regarding our registration process. However, when Ben was consulted, he promptly ceased his current tasks to aid us. His swift and efficient assistance ensured a smooth and straightforward registration process. Additionally, Ben took the time to thoroughly explain the benefits of the Prime program and the various amenities available at Planet Fitness. As a retired police supervisor, I understand the critical role that staff training plays in the success of any organization. It was gratifying to see Ben actively training his colleagues on how to process Prime memberships, a practice that is sure to enhance customer service for future visitors.
