Bombshell Salon & Spa — Attraction in Holland Charter Township

I had the hair and makeup for my bridal party, mother, and myself done by Bombshell for my wedding. Most of our hair was fantastic, and mine stayed in place despite wind! When I did the makeup trial she didn’t match the picture (and hadn’t looked at it in advance). I felt uncomfortable telling her this and tried to be nice and complimentary while expressing my concerns, but after a few minutes she told me she needed to move on to do my mom’s (even though my mom was fine with giving me her time). I found this rude as she botched my trial and it was huge concern.l going into my wedding day so unhappy with her work (Shannon). Ultimately, it looked as though I had no mascara on and the eyeliner was incredibly uneven. I told her no gold glitter, and I liked silver or pink, but she caked my eyes in gold. I also requested browns and pinks and only had light pink eyeshadow applied. The blush was applied above my cheekbones instead of under, and the eyebrows were poorly done. I asked for highlighter which she did not have. She also did not use a primer on my face (just eyes) or a setting powder or spray. It really looked as though I had barely any makeup, and the blush and bronzer dominated my face and I looked like I had aged. I decided to just do my own makeup which ended up going great. My mom’s makeup was also poorly done in her trial, as they didn’t put foundation on her forehead (because they did her hair first) or chin and put a lot of bronzer and blush under her eyes. She barely had any eyeshadow or mascara. They told her she didn’t need eyeliner and didn’t ask. Both of our lipstick was sloppily applied and far outside of our lip lines. My mom had her makeup done for the wedding but touched it up after and chose to do her own lips. My one bridesmaid had her makeup done, by a different artist from bombshell, and that looked better. They also use middle end brands (Morphe primarily, airbrush foundation applied by sponge), which wasn’t suitable in my opinion. Otherwise - they were kind and timely and I was happy with the hair service. I would recommend Sharon for hair but not makeup. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Bombshell Styles for J Salon. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed, cared for, and in the best of hands. The ladies who work here are not only talented and knowledgeable about hair, but they also truly listen to their clients and take the time to understand what you want and need.

My experience is very personal. After having COVID-19, I lost a significant amount of my hair. It was devastating and made me feel so discouraged every time I looked in the mirror. When I came to the salon, Aimee, the owner, treated me with such kindness and compassion. She immediately recognized how upset I was and knew exactly what to do to help. She explained everything in a way that gave me hope, and she recommended the best approach for my hair at that time.

Thanks to her expertise and care, my hair is now thicker, healthier, and stronger than it has been in a long time. Most recently, I had color and highlights done, and I love how it turned out. The results are gorgeous, and I walked out of the salon not only looking better but also feeling more confident and happy.

The entire team at Bombshell Styles for J is amazing—each stylist is supportive, professional, and so talented. They create such a positive and uplifting environment, and you can tell they truly love what they do.

I’ve been to Bombshell a couple times before and have always had a lovely experience! Most stylists are very kind and professional. This time, I scheduled a haircut online with one stylist and she cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment via text, which meant I couldn’t cancel/edit my appointment online without being charged, and I couldn’t schedule another appointment online until this first appointment was cancelled in the system. When the first stylist cancelled in the system on her end, I was then able to re-book with another stylist, Katelyn. I arrived early for my appointment and there were only two other people being served at the time. I waited 15 minutes before Katelyn came from the back for my appointment and she did not acknowledge or seem to care at all that it was now 10 minutes past when I was scheduled for. The wash and haircut were fine, but the blow dry was very rough. Katelyn and another stylist (possibly training?) were both aggressively drying my hair with round brushes at the same time, yanking my head in both directions. Katelyn did apologize and they both finished drying my hair without the brush, but the whole service felt very rushed when there weren’t many people in the salon and the stylist was late to our appointment.
