The spa is beautiful. It has a lot of potential, BUT... It was the worse spa experience that I've had. It was FREEZING 🥶 I mean uncomfortable to the point where the therapists were complaining about how cold it was. They only had cold water, no tea so you can't even warm up. It made it very uncomfortable and difficult to relax. The lights are WAY too bright, not relaxing. I had the fire and ice facial and my face was swollen really bad afterwards. The therapist did not tell me and just said "you are glowing" and left the room. When I looked in the mirror I was shocked. I went to the desk to ask if it was normal and asked 2 other people. They said they would talk to her and have her come speak with me but she never came so I never had my questions answered. It's a day later and the swelling is going down. It would have just been nice to know this in advance and to get some information about what to do. The massage was less than average. It was more like a body rub than a massage. I requested additional pressure but he just did not seem to know what he was doing. There was also a really bright light shining directly in my eyes. He covered my eyes but the light was so bright that I could still see it. There was no aromatherapy with the "signature" massage or any soft music, so again, not relaxing. I was highly disappointed that after paying $576 (gratuity was added automatically) all I wanted to do was run outside to the hot tub so that my body temperature could adjust 😳. The spa is very pretty. HOWEVER, the temperature was FREEZING 🥶. It was very uncomfortable to the point where the therapists also kept commenting on how CD it was. They did not have warm water or hot tea so there was no way to even warm up. The lighting was also very bright and not relaxing. There was a very bright light shining in my eyes during my massage. My eyes were covered but the light was so bright I could still see it. The massage therapist was only ok, it was more like a body rub than a massage and he kept saying that he was trying to warm up. After the facial, the therapist said "you are glowing" and left the room. In the past when I have had facials they always give a mirror at the end and tell you about the products used. She did not. When I stood up and looked in the mirror my face was very swollen. I then asked the front desk about it and they said they would send her so that I could ask her what was going on. She never came back so none of my questions were answered. Luckily today (a day later) it's gone down some. Might I add that 20% gratuity was automatically added without asking me... Soooo.. after paying $567 I just wanted to go to the hot tub to warm up. I went did try the sauna and steam room in the locker room but I just could not get comfortable in this spa. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience at The Diplomat Spa because it was one of the worst spa visits I’ve ever had.

From the very beginning, the customer service at the front desk was unprofessional and unhelpful. No one mentioned that the spa was under construction, and during my 80-minute massage I heard nothing but constant, loud drilling that completely ruined the atmosphere.

On top of that, my massage therapist only used her forearms the entire time, never her hands, which felt lazy and uncomfortable. I paid over $600 expecting a relaxing, high-end experience, but instead I was so disappointed that I actually walked out just 30 minutes into the service.

When I voiced my concerns, the staff offered nothing but a shrug and a “sorry.” There was no effort to accommodate me or make the situation better. I was told I’d receive 30% off, but that discount was never applied.

This was supposed to be a special experience for my husband and me for our anniversary. As a mother of four, leaving my kids behind for some peace and relaxation is rare—and instead I left more frustrated than when I came in.
