We went to Billy Beez for the 1st time yesterday, my daughter was invited to her friend's 8th birthday party. When we arrived, there was a long line of people very eager to get in. We noticed a sign that read "Party Guests Here" or something of that sort, so we formed a separate line there, next to the general main entrance. Someone came over to assist us & informed us that adults (anyone 18+) must first fill out a waiver online before entrance, regardless of whether or not you planned to use the equipment/play areas. We were not informed of this prior & did find it to be a bit of an inconvenience, seeing as we had driven almost an hour to get to Billy's & were already running late to the party. Plus if you're not familiar with scanning things with your phone & completing online forms, this could take you longer. They asked for such information including name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, etc...I understand rules are rules, but it would have been better for all guests to know this before arriving, to make the overall entry process much easier/faster! Anyhow, another thing that annoyed me was that once we had finished with the forms, the 3/4 staff behind the counter were busy assisting regular entrance guests & I had to wait before interrupting one to say "Excuse me!" in order to have assistance with our entry. We were then given wristbands & I did like that staff informed us how if my youngest child didn't want to wear one, one of us adults could wear hers instead. She has Autism & was hesitant to allow one on her wrist, but luckily she agreed to wear it. The overall feel of Billy's was super crowded & even when you're constantly watching your children, it looks as though it wouldn't be difficult to lose track of there whereabouts. Most of the play fixtures are connected & it can be tough at times to see what is going on up above when you're down below. It is definitely not a good place for someone with anxiety! The birthday party room was on the smaller side & felt crammed. However, I do have positive points. Kids of all ages (big & little) love it! From slides, a ball pit, games, & trampolines to snacks (such as pizza, hot dogs, or ice cream), a photo booth, tunnels & more. They do have a restroom with baby changing stations. It is definitely a fun place to cure boredom in any weather, because it is all indoors. You cannot wear shoes, all playing must wear socks & they do have some available for purchase. Adults are allowed to play too if they wish & must be accompanied by a child. I thought $7 seemed a bit high for a plain white basic photo strip from the photo booth, but I suppose it was worth it. They have an area for shoes & belongings, but it is unsupervised at all times. I think staff could be more attentive upon entrance to help lines move more smoothly, especially for those preparing to attend a birthday party, but they were at least friendly. We would like to go back again, because our girls really had a blast! A good way for kids to enjoy themselves & get their energy out. I think it's also a nice thing to have at the Holyoke Mall. Lastly; only 1 person allowed at a time on the trampolines, so be prepared to wait awhile! They also don't have anyone (staff members) to give turns, so basically as soon as someone is in line behind you, you feel rushed & must wrap it up, so that everyone can have a chance to use it. Might not be a bad idea if staff could monitor this & time each guest so that they have a fair amount of play time on it, without taking up so much time that others miss out or have to...
Read moreI booked a party here, and today was the day. My son was excited since he loves coming here. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with any staff. Unfortunately they were short staffed only had three people working. The manager was very very rude and unprofessional. I was “supposedly” allowed to arrive 15 min early to set up they wouldn’t let us in the room until exactly 11. I was given attitude from the manager when I was asking simple questions and was told, “trust us we’ve been working hard all week for this.” I don’t know what that consisted of since the room wasn’t set up, I didn’t have enough plates or utensils. The party attendant was no where to be found and non existent. One of the moms was trying to help me out and was yelled at by an employee.
I will say the only helpful and apologetic employee there was Esmael (probably spelled that wrong). He had patience with us and answered all my questions. But unfortunately he was also running two other parties at the same time.
When I originally booked and spoke to someone the person advised me I could just pay for the other additional children at the same party rate. Well apparently that’s not how that works. Any additional adult and child is regular admission fee which gets to be very expensive very quickly. I paid $700 and this was more of a headache. And I received very little help at all. The manager just tried to argue with me (when in fact I didn’t intend on arguing) and I shut it down telling her it didn’t matter that I was still paying.
Another thing is the cleanliness. The playscape I can understand that probably is difficult to clean. But the floor in party room was very sticky. The women’s bathroom had a toilet constantly flushing which didn’t allow any other toilet to flush. There was no toilet paper in the stalls. We were there when it opened, how were the bathrooms not cleaned from the prior day? Also the hand sanitizer stations were empty.
All in all if you’re looking to book a party just don’t. Save yourself the torture and aggravation. For the amount of money I paid I expect at least some help and some courtesy and respect as a customer. I didn’t expect to have the red carpet rolled out. Just treat us with kindness...
Read moreAmazing! I can't wait to go back. My husband and I were even joking that we should comeback without the kids, hahaha.
I was a huge fan of DZ and Adventureland when I was a kid. I've always wanted to bring my kids to a place like that, but all of the "play places" I've ever brought them were... Not up to par. Boring, or small, or only had a few inflatables... Etc. THIS place is perfect. Of course it doesn't have all of the things I remember as a kid, but that's probably for safety reasons.
It has lots of slides and fun ways to get to them. The big red slide in the middle of the place is my personal favorite. They have basketball (small courts for kids) and a really fun foam ball pit (all of the balls are bitten looking... But kids are kids oh well). The pit has targets and little shooters that you can use. We were having a Kids vs. Parents shootout hahaha. We played tag, and hide and seek as well. There is a small arcade that we didn't use, but there are prizes to win! There is also a toddler area that we didn't go in as well. (Or kids are too old) but it looked like so much for for the little ones! I saw some kids go in there and tried to run around, but the workers got them out really fast. Toddlers are safe.
There was a food area (we didn't order anything) and plenty of seating everywhere. Seating went throughout the whole place so you could easily follow your kids around if you wanted to.
The best part was we could play with our kids. Every single place I've ever been said "No parents on anything!" So this was a treat. I asked the poor lady who worked there about 10 times if I heard her correctly. Yes parents are allowed. Even if you don't want to play you only cost a few dollars, so there should be no complaining. They have a veterans discount as well. They offer socks if you want them, kids and adult sizes. They were great, they have little grips on the bottom. I would recommend purchasing them even if you have your own socks. They have shirts, hats, little pins and buttons, bracelets, etc.
It was great I can't wait to go back with my kiddos and run around with them. Best part is you can come and go as you please. You can go in when it opens, leave for lunch, come back later...
