As a small business owner, and waitress at one time in my life, I am beyond forgiving when it comes to service and quality at a restaurant. But this experience was poor from the start, and so disappointing. We drove an hour thinking with such great GF options this would be a wonderful dinner experience. We don’t often dine out either. From the start, our server stopped caring about our table beyond the bare minimum once he realized we weren’t ordering alcohol. I get it - but with dishes at $20/plate for 5 people, there has to be a limit somewhere. Even our friends ordered $6 lemonade that was nothing more than glorified sugar water. Still, we assumed that at these prices food would be excellent. We ordered 2 appetizers first before our entrees. They took at least 20 minutes to come out and when they did, they were barely warm and clearly had sat a while. The chicken nachos were a tray of store bought chips with 70% absolutely NOTHING on them. Dry, overcooked cheese, a few pieces of chicken and beans/corn. That’s it. I had asked for ranch on the side but they decided to take EVERY sauce including the BBQ off and put on the side. This left us with a dry, tasteless tray of chips for $16. The GF flatbread, which I was really excited for, was mediocre at best. The flatbread was raw (most bake it before topping). WAY too many onions compared to the rest of the ingredients. It was probably the most edible thing we ate, however. We expected our entrees to be out soon after finishing our appetizers, which we took our time with, but it was another at least 20 minutes AFTER the table was cleaned our meals finally came - 3 burgers, and 2 pasta dishes. The burgers were nothing special accompanied by typical shoestring fries and overcooked sweet potato fries for one of our friends. My husband’s vegetarian pasta was probably the best meal of the bunch, but he said he veggies were not fully cooked. My GF Mac and cheese, recommended by the waiter, was so disappointing. Mushy, overcooked penne (and barely any pasta at that) mixed with cheese sauce (NOT Mac and cheese), a plop of bbq pork, and a HUGE amount of onion straws. Even our friend asked if all I was eating were onion straws (certainly felt that way). Attempts to hid the flavor perhaps? But this is NOT pulled pork Mac a cheese that at $22.50 was glorified pasta with cheese sauce. I would have loved to try the desserts if they weren’t $10/11 each and with such a low quality meal I didn’t even want to bother. $147 plus tip for 5 people with no alcohol for the quality of food we had was so disappointing. And we had to ask the server to refill drinks. Limited attention and it wasn’t busy and plenty of staff. Many would ask why we didn’t say anything. I do not like to waste food nor do I expect a free meal. But I wouldn’t go back. It makes me sad it is so hard to find a good quality meal these days when you have such high hopes being GF and are paying so high a price to go out. The 2 stars is really based on their attempt to try to offer a GF menu and they seem to really care about food allergies. But quality of food? I could have had better take out closer to home for...
Read moreThe individuals that work at 110 Grill in Holyoke are a family. We argue and fight and drive each other crazy, like most restaurants, there is often a stand-off between the front of the house staff and back of the house staff but in the end, when something bad happens to one of our own we are all there to help and listen. In this dysfunctional family, we call a restaurant, we lost our friend, our colleague, our brother. Friday we said goodbye to Gabe. You didn’t really have to be close to him to know he was around… trust me he’d let you know. As we sat there together celebrating Gabe’s life there were several things that were clear. Many of us have been there since day 1 and although Gabe was not there from the very beginning many of us were feeling the impact of his passing and we needed time to grieve together. I just wanted to take a minute to express my gratitude to 110 Grill as a company. We, unfortunately, found out about Gabe’s passing on Monday. Aaron Davis, our General Manager, realized that this was a situation where everyone needed the opportunity to grieve and pay their last respects. Thank you Aaron for acknowledging our needs and for advocating on behalf of the entire staff to make sure that everyone who wanted to attend memorial services was able to do so. Thank you to Ryan Dion (COO) and Kim Wallace (Dir. of Operations) for understanding our pain and closing the restaurant with very little notice on a Friday night to allow for our team to attend Gabe’s services. I understand how much the restaurant has been impacted by the pandemic and despite the need to make money, you chose your team first not many corporate executives would have done that. It did not go unnoticed, in fact, there were over twenty past and present 110 employees that attended and showed up together as a united front together to honor Gabe’s life. To our valued guests, thank you for understanding our pain, and we are sorry that we were not available to serve you on Friday evening. Please know that your patience is greatly appreciated and it may be a few weeks before we are back to happy cheerful selves, but we will do our best to make sure you have the best 110...
Read moreWent in on august 6th at around 7:00pm. We got sat down by friendly host. We waited and then another table got sat and got greeted before us. I did not mind it though I know servers can be busy sometimes but then I see another server going to the same table asking if they have gotten served yet and still no one had come over to our table. We asked on of the servers who was very friendly and asked for a server. She immediately went to get our server. From what it sounded like it seems like they work in sections. The server came over and saw that she was the second waitress that went over to the other table. She had smiled at the other table and her attitude seemed much more positive. When we came over she did not come over with an apology or a smile. The way she talked was very unpleasant and rude. We ordered drinks and she seemed so annoyed like we were taking so much of her time. We also ordered food and I was asking my significant other what protein he wanted on the salad. As a past server I know the word protein is a better thing to say than say every single thing that could be added and my SO knows what I meant by it and I was rushing our order as fast as I could as I understand servers can be busy. She immediately cut me off while I was asking and with a very rude voice she proceeded to ask the same question I had just asked. She walked away and placed our order and brought our drinks. The beers were warm and we said thank you and nothing back in return for the thank you and did not even bother to look up. We decided to leave as I we didn’t want our meal ruined by someone’s attitude. We might try another time but this day was not it. She had blonde and had French braided hair. Hopefully management can talk this through otherwise I’m sure with attitude like that business...
