HNL Studios — Attraction in Honolulu

During our wedding planning, my husband and I prioritized what was important to us. Especially because we were planning a destination wedding in Honolulu and with all of our family flying in, documenting this once in a  lifetime day could not be compromised. So for us, we knew we needed to have a wedding photographer, videographer and a fun photo booth to capture those silly and candid moments for all our guests. I think I went through dozens of options spending hours online. Ones I was referred to by friends/family on Oahu, some I found I found on yelp, IG, and just by googling. A family friend told me about a great company called HNL Studios, and when I got to see their work something about them just stuck in my mind. As I first contacted them they answered all my questions I didn't even think to ask and they responded so quickly to every email, text, or call I made. I first was in touch with Keshia who was just exceptional. So nice, so helpful. They helped me find the perfect wedding package that fit exactly what I was looking for and offer special pricing for reserving multiple services. After booking, they had me create a mood board for my dream wedding pictures (which I found to be the hardest part of wedding planning). Our HNL wedding videographer was Greg and our photographers were Nikki and Charles who we had the pleasure of speaking with for over an hour about who we were as a couple, moments we were looking to capture, and going over everything with such patience and expertise. I was so impressed and just so relieved. I knew I had nothing to worry about. I was so surprised to find that Nikki and Charles knew all the photography shots I wanted and made sure I got them! They were so helpful and dedicated to their work. They made us feel so confident when taking pictures. My husband hates to take pictures but the photographers and videographers really knew how to put him at ease and at the end he actually was smiling and having fun taking them with me! I can't explain how wonderful this was to have on our wedding day.

Their photobooth service was also excellent. The booth managers really dressed professional and formal which helped them blend well with our guests and made us comfortable. Their photo booth props are stylish and I didn't find anything cheesy like I have seen in other cheaper photo booths. Definitely don't want to skimp on the photo booth either because all your guests see them. Their boomerang feature was so fun and we could post them on Instagram or facebook easily that same night. I received so many compliments from our guests on how fun the wedding photo booth was.

HNL Studios...how can I even describe how God has blessed my husband and me by finding such an amazing business to handle our wedding photography/videography?

I initially found HNL Studios years ago through an old classmate of mine; I loved the style of her wedding photos and I wanted something similar for when I got married. So I followed them on instagram. Fast forward 4 years later and I got engaged. I'm the type of girl who has had her dream wedding planned in her head since she was 6 years old and I just knew that I had to have HNL Studios to do photography/videography, so I literally contacted them and my dream venue within a week of getting engaged. My husband and I got married exactly within a year of our engagement; during that time, Keshia and Charles made it almost effortless to plan our wedding. They were always willing to answer any silly questions we had and we had great vibes during our planning meetings.

Let's fast forward to the day of the wedding. I have no idea how Charles and his team do it, but they made everything super easy and seamless. The photographers and videographers know exactly how to direct the couple, wedding party, etc. especially when there are some super camera-shy people. The videographers really know how to capture the couple's love story within a few minutes. The photobooth staff was so professional and fun, it was such a big hit at the reception. Not to mention the props are super fun! Romeo Valentine was super great with emceeing/DJ'ing our reception - shoe game ftw! Such a great team and professional staff!

Fast forward to our gallery and wedding video reveal. Again, I have no idea how they did it, but they managed to capture all the warmth and fun that we had on our wedding day. It was so hard for me to pick only 120 pictures for our wedding album because so many of the pictures were spectacular and eye-catching.

I know that wedding photography/videography packages can be very expensive, but trust me, this was worth every single penny. What's amazing about HNL Studios, is that weddings are THEIR THING. The heart and intentionality that is put behind every wedding that they capture is evident in the quality of the photos and videos they produce.

Wedding planning is stressful. There is no getting around that. But when you have a wedding team like HNL Studios, you can rest assured that your special day is going to be perfect. As you go through your wedding planning, you will soon realize that it’s very rare to meet wedding vendors who take the time know what is important to you as an individual and connects with you on a personal level that HNL Studios does. I dare you try to find a vendor that after booking them will reply back to your text or emails within a day! Its quite funny when you think about it. This is not the case with HNL Studios as they replied really quickly and were able to work with me to make me feel at ease with each call, text or email.

I'm a huge photography enthusiast. I remember looking up dozens of photographers (not an exaggeration) during wedding planning. When I finally stumbled upon the HNL Studios website, I instantly knew they were the team for us. They are incredibly talented, and their shots and storytelling of our wedding is evidence of their God-given gifts as creative professionals. They understand composition. Each shot is a work of art. Their creativity was especially evident on our wedding day. I remember the immediate relief that flooded my anxious nerves the moment that Charles and Nikki walked in through the door as we were getting ready for the wedding.

Despite the unpredictable wind that blew on the day of, they were having fun with the wind and how it played with my veil!! I could tell they look at challenges as opportunities for something amazing and I couldn’t help but feel secured. They are worth every penny and more. They deserve more than a 5/5!

Investing in HNL Studios was one of the best decisions my husband and I made as a newlywed. The amount of love and joy they helped bring out in our lives is beyond the scope of this review. They aren't just awesomely talented photographers, but also genuine and generous people. They were sensitive to our unique situation and still made things work.
