The short story: sold me a couch that didn't exist at a tremendous discount. Never shipped my order, nor contacted me to let me know they were not going to. Zero communication for 8 week (except marketing emails) When I followed up, the customer service representative was either clueless or deceptive about what had happened to my order. Her primary goal was to convince me to accept a substitute product. Never got the couch. Overall, a negative experience, wasting my time. The details: Visited the showroom in October. Chose a couch that I liked. Super deal, 61% off the list price. Online and store staff confirmed there were four in stock. They estimated delivery in approximately 6 weeks. I ordered and paid in full on October 19th. Order confirmed by email the following day from their warehouse manager, Tad. He offered me a 15% discount on additional items. From the date of that email until December 8th I did not hear a word from them with the exception of marketing emails. After 8 weeks without contact, I called to check the status of my order. They told me customer service would contact me. Later in the day I received a text from their customer service representative, Joyce. She inform me that they still did not have a delivery date for my order. She said it would probably take a few more weeks, but she didn't have an exact date and asked me if I'd "be open to exchange." This prompted me to phone her. During the phone call she basically told me that they must have sold the couches to someone else before the staff submitted a transfer to have the item transferred from California to Hawaii. As compensation she offered me free delivery of my item. (an item that didn't exist.) I pointed out to her that I had received an email from their shipping manager the day after my order. Thus, I had a hard time believing that there was a delay in processing the order. Additionally, I asked why if they knew within a few days of my order the couch did not exist why they had not contacted me. She had no explanation. The phone call ended with the agreement that she would check with logistics to find out when the couch would be available. Three days later in a follow-up phone call she still had not checked with logistics. However she offered me a 10% discount on a substitute order. I asked if that was an addition to the free shipping she had already offered me. She never answered. I also noted I had multiple email offers for 15% discounts. She explained that those discounts were to fill the pallet when items are being shipped. She did not match the offer, only offered a substitute item. Again I asked her to find out how long it would take for that one to be in stock. She subsequently sent me another text telling me they do not have any update on whether the manufacturer will be making the product any longer. She continued to try to convince me to substitute my order for something else. In the interim I had visited the store and spoke with Kiana, who actually did research into my issue. She discovered that their inventory was incorrect and three of the four couches listed did not really exist. I noted the obvious, one couch was all I needed. She was able to contact someone in the warehouse in an attempt to locate the one couch. It was not available. I canceled my order. Less than 24 hours later I received an email offer of a 20% discount. Ironic, that customer service would not honor a 15% discount they had already offered me, but after I canceled my order they were willing to offer me 20%. In summary: Either poorly managed or deceitful. Customer service department pays lip service to their issues. Cost me a lot of time. Do not recommend this...
Read moreI wanted to love this company but I am not able to overlook the lack of integrity and honesty with their service and products. I have bought a total of 3 items from this company. My first piece came from the HNL location about a year ago. HNL had outstanding service, delivery, and set up. Naturally when I needed to purchase more items, I thought of this company. I decided to go to the Kapolei location at the mall. HUGE MISTAKE! I came in to the store location to see if they had the items I wanted on the floor to preview. They had one out of the two on the floor. The table I wanted is Called Bali Wood table & it was not on the floor, but it "was" on their website at the time, however it is not anymore. I ended up ordering the table through the phone with the sales associate. They explained to me the return process and that there is a 20% restocking fee and to keep the boxes it comes in if I need to return it. (Did not get delivered w/boxes FYI). After taking my payment the sales associate said someone would call me within 48 hours to schedule delivery day and time. To my surprise someone did call me 48 hours later BUT said "he's outside to deliver". Good thing I was only 10 mins away. Rushed over to receive the delivery. I was shocked to see the table delivered looked NOTHING like the one on their website. It was raw wood with no shine to it. Can easily be damaged by a drink spill. I called the sales associate and told her this table is not like what you have online as advertised. She explained to me that during the week I bought the table they had some internal company changes were they no longer sell the glossed one anymore. She assured me her manager was fully aware that this change occurred during my purchase and would fully rectify the situation. To my dismay, she came back and said management wants to charge me $299 to have them gloss it like the online photo. I told her this is false advertising. No where online does it say the table comes raw or that there is an extra charge to gloss it. I went to check the photo online to see the table again to double check description & compare and they DELETED it off their site!! I have a screen shot of it prior to buying it and as you can see it has a shine to it. I also took a photo of what was delivered to me. As you can see, looks nothing like their website photo. This is dishonest business practices. I can't stress to you anymore BUYER BEWARE! I screen shot the texts with the sales associate who assured me they could rectify this problem on the phone. For a $1600 table I should of received what I ordered. Thats all I wanted. Now I have an expensive table that I have to hire someone else to fix it. As a company you should stand by the quality of your product and strive to make customers happy. I do not think me wanting what you had online is too much to ask for. As I said in my text to the sales associate I will not recommend this company to anyone I come in contact with. In fact, I will go out of my way to make sure people don't buy from them. As you can see she did not answer my texts and ignored me. Zero effort to rectify their wrong and dishonesty. Don't say you...
   Read moreTotally blown away!
Let me explain. I just moved into a new condo from a 40 year old house. I decided to start a new chapter in life and wanted all new furniture. So it was out with the old and in with the new!
Over the past 15 years, Iâve always dreaded purchasing furniture. The daunting task of finding great quality furniture for an affordable price was merely a dream which one could only imagine, until I found Valyou!
I found Valyou on Facebook Marketplace, my usual go-to for furniture as it was mostly preowned and cheaper than a brand new highly marked up big box mainland retailers everyone and and their mother goes to.
I saw a post on FB marketplace by Morgan Callaway, an angle sent from heaven Iâm sure of this. I absolutely loved the furniture he was selling and after a few minutes, I realize he was a Valyou representative. I had a few questions and thought Iâd send him a DM and inquire about the furniture and delivery services. Let me tell you, I was impressed that he instantly replied to my DM. Mind you this conversation between him and I started just a few hours before midnight.
Realistically, I didnât think he was going to reply til at least 8-9am the next morning. We struct up a conversation and he answered every single questions I had about their furniture, shipping, delivery and even assembly. Not only is he very knowledgeable about their products, but he listened to my concerns, questions, and replied with very helpful tips and resolutions to every one of my concerns.
After speaking with him via FB messaging, I ended up fully furnishing my condoâs living room and dining room!
After paying for everything on their website which by the way is a breeze to navigate and the furniture on the website seemed to be updated constantly to assure you that what youâre buying is definitely in-stock or not, I received an email from Lauren over at the shipping and delivery department requesting to set up delivery of all the furniture I just purchase only minutes earlier.
Again, just like Morgan, Lauren was extremely helpful and tended to my concerns of the furniture being delivered only on certain days and certain hours as I live in a condo now with the load of other people needing the elevators.
Lauren did her magic and boom! I have my furniture being delivered within the next few days.
As a local business owner myself, I am absolutely blown away at the customer service, the simplicity of working with Valyou and the the true value this complain provides. I will be purchasing more furniture for Valyou in the future and I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone who wants quality furniture, genuine and honest customers service and really investing in furniture youâll have for years to come.
Big mahalos to Morgan and Lauren, you guys made this experience memorable and pleasant and I will definitely refer my friends and family to...
